  1. Nope - not using icloud photo library. They were originally setup via AC but not supervised. All 35 have been setup exactly the same way so why does it only affect a small few? This morning I've erased one completely and updated to iOS 10.0.2 but it's still refusing to work with the PC. It did the usual 'Trust this computer' pop up on the iPad but still nothing appears on the PC. We are using the Wifi Photo transfer app as a work round, but it shouldn't be like this!
  2. @DJ-1701 none taken! Stupid iPads get me mad. Grrr. @duzzie there are no restrictions set in Meraki.
  3. @DJ-1701 really, you had to ask that?! @Kingstech We use Meraki for MDM. @RLR we only have one MacBook which we use purely for apple configurator. The rest of school is Windows only.
  4. This seems to be a recurring issue but one that I've never found a concrete solution for. iPad mini 2, when connected to a Windows PC (7 64-bit in this case but seems irrelevant which version) will not allow you to see the photos on it. You can hear the usual bing bong when the iPad is connected, but no prompts appear on the PC. All you get is an 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' in Devices and Printers. The 'Trust this computer' prompt does not appear. It doesn't matter what version of iTunes you may or may not have installed - most of the time the iPads are more than happy to work without iTunes installed at all so I don't include it in the build. Its only a small few of our iPads that do this, but when they do, they will refuse to work on ANY PC in school. PCs that other iPads work fine on, these few rogue ones don't. The only way I've found to get the iPad working is to completely erase them and start again, which I'm fed up having to do as it seems like a sledgehammer to crack a nut type of solution. Any ideas?
  5. Ok, how about this one? Happy @DalekSec ?
  6. that's just plain pedantic! I said it was quick...
  7. Thanks, Al. We're getting plenty of support from David at the moment. I'm just waiting on some tablet demo units to test it with.
  8. Thanks for the replies. We're looking at NetSupport at the moment and have been impressed with it from a technical point of view.
  9. +1 for Powershell. When it comes to bulk jobs in Office365, I always use Powershell. I'm no Powershell expert, I just google what I want to do and there's always someone who's done it and documented it. The spiceworks forums are also a good place to look.
  10. +1 for @VeryPC_Colin_M if you want custom built and nice vinyl lid (they look amazing). If you're happy with off the shelf laptops, Misco have a good deal on Lenovo.
  11. I like to feel partially responsible for this! Please, please, please can someone wake @Gonk up and ask him to roll out another theme tune...
  12. How do you find Lanschool generally? I'm looking into getting something similar and am wondering how well it works in a 'real world' situation?
  13. Octobeard - who can grow the most convincing @VeryPC Al facial hair?
  14. How about a Star Trek themed Spoktober?
  15. You can't beat a bit of @VeryPC Al shouting 'Bring me the box!' I've still got the t-shirt and it makes me smile whenever I see it.
  16. How big a job are we talking? If its only a 15 minute job, I'd just do it and tell the teacher they owe you a pint - keep it light-hearted. If its a major task then I would talk to your line manager to make them aware of what you are being asked to do, and get their opinion on it.
  17. @TMBS Any news on your network issues?
  18. Quick - someone wake @Gonk up - we need a theme tune!
  19. I agree - a loop seems the most likely cause if nothing else has changed. There's been a lot of storms around recently so it could be a dodgy network card or more likely someone has plugged both ends of a network cable into the network. Which switch was flashing constantly? This is most likely where the problem lies. As @johnat1121 suggests, turning all the switches off and then step by step turning them back on, starting with the core switch (the one that your servers are connected to), should help you trace the fault. Please let us know how you get on.
  20. +1 for spiceworks. It does an awful lot more than you require, BUT you can dumb it down and only use the most basic features.
