Well its the first day back after the summer hols for me and the first thing on my mind is - What weird and wonderful ideas will @VeryPC Al and the marketing team at VeryPC come up with for this year's long awaited Socktober 2016? Doesn't look like the excel or Falcon ones I've used. Have you got a CEF branch near you - you could take it in and ask them. Our local branch are very helpful. That said, I can't see anything on their website that looks exactly like yours.

Old school buildings don't allow ideal routing of cables so I can't get away with anything shorter than 4.5 metres.

@ass17 Could you share how you sorted it out as I'm having similar issues with one in our school and nothing has worked 100% yet - just when we think its OK, the issue re-appears. Thanks.

I've got a 4065 doing the same thing. We're using the 5M SMART cable that was supplied with it. I'm considering using an active USB cable, to try and rule that out although it seems too random to be a cabling issue as it can happen once a week or once a day. At this point I'm willing to try anything.

This may be a strange question but have you turned UAC off on the desktop computers?

Are the desktops able to ping your SIMS server and vice versa?

I've been given a guide price for SIMS Activities of 75p per pupil per year. I've only just started looking into this though so I don't have anything to compare that to yet...

Have you tried SIMS Activities? I've been asked to look into it but its not something I've any experience of. Do you know how much it costs?

Nope - still happening without any obvious reason making it hard to find a solution. It doesn't seem to have any affect on performance or anything though so we are just living with it...

Thanks for the update - we have Konica copiers and our staff have iPads so how to print to them is something that I keep getting asked, but my current answer is that its not possible! Slightly off topic, but do you use the Pagescope software on the server to manage the printers, or simply install the printers and share them? I'm being asked to monitor and manage printer usage but the free version of Papercut I'm using isn't integrated in the copiers so can only log what is printed, not what is copied. Pagescope seems to be able to offer the ability to log everything, but I've not got it working yet...

Everyone I showed it to said they loved the way it looked and felt - most thought it was a little MacBook!

@Joanne I had that demo model before you. I used an external DVD drive to install a fresh Win 10 and installed the drivers from the supplied USB stick. Not much help I'm afraid, but what a lovely machine it is. The IPS screen looks amazing and makes using a 13.3" perfect. I've got @VeryPC_Colin_M looking for a suitable charging storage unit now so we can have them in sets of 10 in the classrooms.

My office is the server room. Its the only room with working air conditioning now and its lush!

You'll need a wall mounted ultra-short throw projector, with a protective cage round it. The speakers should be rugged enough to cope with the odd ball hitting them without any protection. Depending on the size of your hall and the size of the image you want to project, you could be looking at upwards of £700 for the projector, £200 for the amp and speakers. Then half a day installation costs (unless you are doing it yourself) Also you need to consider what you are going to use the PA system for. Just connecting it to a PC/laptop isn't much of a problem, but if you are considering using microphones it becomes much more involved depending on what type of sounds you want to capture and amplify, positioning of speakers and mics etc... There's a few suppliers on edugeek who would be more than happy to talk you through options I'm sure. Give @VeryPC_Anthony_L a PM - he knows LOTS about microphones and PA setups.

I have the same issue - its one of those things that would be nice to sort, but so many other things are higher up the priority list. I was going to look at Item level targeting by looking for the Office14 folder etc. If you target specific OUs that relies on you remembering to put the computer in an Office 2016 OU and can quickly get messy, hence why I would prefer the above method - just haven't had time to try it yet...
