  2. I wanted to say a huge thank you to @elsiegee40 and @VeryPC_Colin_M for helping fund our trip to the WKC World Championships last weekend. If you've not already seen it on the Stocktober thread, my daughter won 2, yes 2 silver medals in the under 13 girls Kata and traditional sparring (Kumite) categories. I'm a very proud dad and very proud of the team - all 7 members who entered from our club came back with at least one medal. Going for Gold next year...
  3. Does that mean madvent will be in a similar vein?
  4. Interlink have 'brung me the box!' Thank you again to @VeryPC for a brilliant Stocktober - I loved the new format with short daily videos and longer Monday ones. and to @vikpaw for generously and honourably refusing the chromebook in a previous draw. I'll be putting it though its paces to see how well it integrates with our current systems and who knows, maybe I'll be converted...
  5. Yay! I won a chrome book! Thanks @VeryPC and @vikpaw. I'm in Portugal at the WKC 2016 World championships with my eldest daughter. She only went and won 2 silver medals so this has just topped it off nicely! Now I have something nice and shiny to come back to. Thanks again to everyone involved.
  6. Its half-term for a lot of people so they aren't in school, maybe that's why its a bit quiet at the moment...
  7. Did anyone else notice the email on @VeryPC Al's screen?
  8. I'm sure there's an edugeeker who could turn it into something decent. Or maybe Honey G could use it on next week's xfactor!
  9. How much does Feem cost? They don't mention pricing on their website...
  10. It has been updated to 10 now and is still not working, but it was just the same with 9. I'm showing the teacher how to use Onedrive later today so hopefully that will be the end of it for now...
  11. Use the snipping tool and upload a pic!
  12. Here's @VeryPC Al on topic...
  13. I see your points, but they aren't issues for us. (yet) Staff are not allowed to install apps, its against the AUP they signed. I can push apps out from Meraki if there is one we need but they are only using free apps for the software we already use in school, i.e. Office365, Classroom monitor, the rest are just web based and work fine through safari. We reset email passwords and associated appleIDs when staff members return their device before they leave so we have full control over them anyway. OneDrive does seem to work quite well, its just getting staff to grips with it as its such a different way of doing things for them.
  14. These are staff devices, not pupil. I don't see why supervising them would be a requirement. Its taken long enough to get staff trained to get photos off a digital camera, OneDrive is a step too far for many staff. It was also not great when it first came out (in the SkyDrive for Business days) but maybe it is worth investigating again. We tried that originally but its not as straightforward as you might think and SLT decided they'd rather spend the money elsewhere. Nope - it doesn't matter whether iTunes is on the PC or not. Its only some of the iPads that display this behaviour - so its not the way the PCs are setup.
  15. We're an Office365 school so its OneDrive for us, but Wifi Phototransfer seems to be fine for most needs. I'm in the process of setting all staff iPads to static IP addresses so I can create a page on our portal with a link for each staff member, just to make it one step simpler.
  16. They are smaller than normal adult headphones, but they will fit most adults as well. My 11 year old has a pair that she got for her 9th birthday which have never failed and she's not exactly gentle with them!
  17. Wouldn't that picture be more suited to DavRoss Robinson?
  18. They can't have been the same then. The ones we had lost their red ear pads within days, then the speakers became detached inside the headphones so they rattled around until eventually the tiny (and I mean tiny), thin wires snapped. I might have to try those ones from Hills...
  19. Have you tried these? We had some very similar looking ones from ebuyer a while ago and they were terrible. All broke within a few weeks of buying them. We get these now: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Groov-GV590PW-Kids-Style-Headphone-Pink/dp/B00378KLQU?th=1 They last much longer (only 3 sets out of 32 have broken in 12 months)
  20. Email a photo to AVPartsmaster and see if they can find you one?
  21. Whilst watching the video I've eaten all my lunch without even realising. Now I'm hungry and I've nothing left to eat!
