My understanding was only HD footage was encrypted but its a long while since I looked in to it.

We just create AD accounts for guests so BYOD works the same for staff, students and visitors. It also means they can login to school pcs if required.

Hi, It should be syncing any 'Mail Enabled Security Groups', which are just groups with the email field filled in. So long as your AD filtering includes the OU they are in. Cheers, Rob

Do you have AD Connect setup for syncing? That's going to be the only quick way of making the changes unless your good at Powershell. Also, use sub groups to make life easier in future, IE: Students > 2010 Leavers > Year 11 Makes moving them much easier when you simply move 5 groups up.

Ubiquiti Unifi POE Injector, anyone got one they don't need?
robyholmes replied to tj2419's topic in Wireless Networks
I can help you out if you can wait a week or so? Does it need to be a certain power. I have spares from Nano HDs -
I'd suggest it's more about storage than what's in them. For example a projector lamp is unlikely to break in the bin but a tube certainly will.

Interesting I thought we were on the new interface, thanks I'll check that.

Hi All, I'm trying to test pre-syncing SharePoint Online document libraries but the documentation stays I need a library ID. To get this I need to click on 'Sync' and then when the 'Getting ready to sync' box appears click on 'Copy library ID'. However, I only see this box when I click on sync: I've tried in Edge & Chrome, I get the same of very similar message. If I click on 'Sync' it simply opens OneDrive and syncs. This is the Microsoft documentation I'm trying to follow: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/use-group-policy#AutoMountTeamSites Can I ask other people to try clicking on Sync and see what they get? Thanks, Rob

Paxton controllers can also take a bit if dual mag locks (Double doors) are installed. My advice is go bigger than you think as you'll always add more!

Have a look at sds.microsoft.com Export from SIMs, change format a little and import. It then creates all your classes as teams. There's a year end process as well. I found some useful report definitions on here as well so have a search for them before you make your own.

The Net2 software it uses is on version 6. Could well be they mean that not IPv6. Paxton Net2 is a great system and is easily managed, although wiring them on a bus is a bit old hat but sounds to be to late for that.

Allowing chrome with Applocker
robyholmes replied to BroganOs's topic in Network and Classroom Management
I've had this before and found it was an addon loading being blocked not chrome itself. Check the AppLocker log in event viewer to confirm the program and path. -
Local Profiles + SSD's Running out of disk space during the year
robyholmes replied to Zourous's topic in Windows 10
We use this setting with DelProf2 as well but set to a higher number of days. So if Windows doesn't manage to remove the profile DelProf2 gives it a go. -
POE all the way, a few advantages are: Easier and normally cheaper installation Network Monitoring of the batteries You can use the battery backup for other purposes (Servers, Backup NAS, CCTV) You can increase or decease the amount of backup you have, IE buy a smaller or larger UPS

Free NRS Pin Pad & Finger printer readers I have two old NRS Pin pads and finger print readers which are free to a good home. One of the pin pads has a faulty cable but can't remember which. One of the finger printer readers is also missing the base, however if it's for spares then you'll already have a base. Free + Postage Send me a PM to arrange. Cheers, Rob

You can also configure Windows Update to go directly to public WU servers rather than WSUS for features on demand via Group Policy. Specify settings for optional component installation and component repair under Computer>Admin Templates>System EDIT: Ahh to quick for me, ha

This has been mentioned a few times on here. The answer is, remove the restriction but keep it hidden. As long as your permissions and other restrictions are correct you shouldn't have any trouble.

Assigning Messaging policies to groups in MS Teams
robyholmes replied to wickit's topic in Cloud Services
You need to create a policy then apply it to users. You can use Powershell but I found it difficult so I found you can select 50 users at a time in the Admin portal and set the policy. Select all only does 25. -
As long as your permissions are correct you should have any issues with users accessing C:\ drive. We've had it unrestricted for years for both staff and students with no issues. Hidden yes.

I took the plunge recently and rebuilt our Xibo setup on a Linux VM using Docker. My god it wasn't easy but the new Xibo software is a lot better. I prefer Xibo over other 'Slide' based systems as you can schedule layouts to go up, for parents evenings etc. It takes some setup but I felt it was worth it. We pull a lot of information from our Website meaning we only need to update one place.

Yep Paxton Support will help, although you ideally still need an installer key to reinstall. Do you have a installation firm you use you could ask?

We had a number of problems with the fingerprint system stopping. They always claimed it was 'Windows Updates stopping IIS'. Odd how it doesn't do that on our servers? Anyway we moved to ID cards and now we get the odd issue with the readers now working. Restarting the till sorts that but they seem to make things very complex for what's needed and its always done using modifications and edits after the installation of the software.

I always enjoy having a good Gander at this thread.
