Has anyone found a way of setting the ffmeg path in the portal version? It has a config file but not much in it.

I'm not sure but from when I set it up it just needs access to your Azure AD for authentication. So as long as your Azure AD is a single tenancy with both domains in it, it should work. However you'll find even if you go with 'Shared Device Licences' all your users still need an account. So its licenced per machine but you still need to login to use it. So your going to need to create users either way and doing it via Azure AD is certainly easier than creating them in Adobe Console.

Got it, confirmed what I've just found. I think I was thinking of Windows Update for Business. I'll stick with WSUS for now then as its working. Cheers

I've set this up today but I'm unsure how this fits with WSUS. Do I remove the WSUS settings and point it to Windows Update?

We go 23 to 24 in classrooms but 22 for student machines. Admin staff get two 22. All full HD.

We have some triple pole emergency exit buttons. They release the door, sound the alarm (With flashing lights) but most importantly, trigger an input on the Paxton which then runs a rule to email Site team & Pastoral team. We also have readers on both in and out of external doors. We then use a time rule to email Pastoral staff if student leaves during lessons. We designed this system to meet safeguarding requirements after doing a risk assessment. We don't have a fenced site.

I would throw the following in to the mix: Share Files via OneDrive / SharePoint Pros: Part of Office 365 Free You keep control of the document You can see who opened it as when You can update it without re-sending You can revoke access at any time You can control things like download, send on etc via the Security & Compliance Center

Its currently on a USB pen so is basically local already. Both working and non working accounts are using the same files (Tried multiple) from the USB pen. My current thinking is it doesn't splice the file until you click 'Print'. So it needs somewhere to store the gcode file when it splices it. This is the bit its getting stuck on but while it would be blocked and why I wouldn't be able to see it on process monitor I don't know. Maybe it see's its using a UNC path and doesn't even try to create it? But why wouldn't it then error.

I forgot I did run this but couldn't see anything being blocked or unable to write. I might need to run it again as it was quite late on a night so might have missed something.

If your a Office 365 school make use of SharePoint for an intranet page. This is what we use for staff notices, calendar, quick links. Guidance documentation etc.

Hi All, I have a very odd issue at a school I support. They have a MakerBot Replicator 2 and use the MakerBot Desktop software to run it. The issue we're having is since updating their servers and folder direction setup staff (And I should think Students) have been unable to send jobs to the printer. The software can see the printer but when you click on 'Print' it opens up the loading bar window but doesn't progress. However if we login as a network admin, it works fine. So this made me wonder if admin rights where needed but when I granted a test staff account local admin rights it still failed. So I'm thinking its some windows policy but I'm not sure where to start. We don't redirect AppData so that remains local, the STL file they are trying to print is on a USB stick which as write permissions etc. I had file screen on the file server but putting it in passive mode made no difference. The program doesn't show an error either it just never loads the file on to the printer. I've also updated the software to V3.10 which is the latest version supported on this printer. The major change which took place over summer was changing folder redirection away from %HOMEDRIVE% to \\UNC-PATH so I'm thinking it could be this but really not sure why? Has anyone come across this? I'm hoping I don't need to go down the trail and error route of changing policies to find the cause. Thanks, Rob

Depends on the setting. You need the 'Send copies to members' option ticked. I think this is set in SDS as I don't need to do it per class.

We use it here combined with Microsoft SDS (School Data Sync). It creates teams for all our classes allowing staff to email, IM, share files and set assignments per class. Each subject or department around school also has a team and we're growing the number of teams as we find a set of work which requires it. As for management, we've done the following: Student policy created blocking private chats & calls Student can't create new teams All teams have at least one staff member, with the idea that they monitor it Microsoft provide great monitoring tools via the Security & Compliance Center. We've setup some monitoring rules as well which check teams content. Most staff simply use the groups for emailing but we have a few staff who are fully using teams to store files, chat and set homework.

Thank you for confirming that. We use a single domain so that should help. We're also looking at moving MIS so it might be I leave SIMS as is and just setup automatic sync from the new MIS. Here's hoping.

Was this a problem with SDS or SIMS ID? We're running SDS using the CSV file method and its working very well. I'm just trying to automate it more by using SIMS ID. I know SIMS ID has a free version which is used to run the Parent Lite app. However my understand was you needed a full licence for SDS. I think I'll have another go at setting it up for next year.

Hi @thimon, I'm not sure what your notes mean? Could you explain them for me? I might be having a thick moment to bare with me. I'm also trying to use PowerShell to get the ID's but we use MFA which doesn't seem to work with the script I'm using. Grrr

My suggestion would be separate filtering and broadband. Which likely means an onsite filtering device (Smoothwall, Sophos UTM for example) and a un-filtered or at least mainly unfiltered internet connection. We're Exa here for broadband and Smoothwall for filtering. Exa have been very good even with the DDOS, you could have that with anyone. Smoothwall has been very good but support isn't great at the minute. However its level of filtering I feel is very good.

I've opened a support case with Microsoft so I'll let you know how I get on. We use the following: https://www.schoolbooking.com/ Staff find it easy to use and although it has some limitations (Mostly due to how it gets info from SIMS mind you) its quite feature rich and price is pretty good. However ideally changing MIS would be better long term and pretty much all of them have room booking built in.

Hi All, We currently sync classes in to Office 365 from SIMS using Microsoft SDS & CSV files from SIMS. However I now know that it supports an automatically sync from SIMS via SIMS ID. I looked at this over a year ago but was told by our LA support team that it required a SIMS ID licence. Could anyone confirm this? At the time they didn't know what the licence was or cost so I took it no further. Recently however I've been people talking about it on here so I wondered if it was still a cost or if it was free? Your ISP router likely won't have DHCP so you'll need to set a static IP on the range of the router.

Just to say we have this problem as well. Only affects PowerPoint 2016 and no other programs. It's not a board issue as it still happens when you draw with the mouse but only when connected to a board. As soon as you disconnect the 'Touch Device' it stops jumping. Microsoft forums report the same. Re-imaging doesn't seem to help. I'm hoping Office 2019 or 365 will solve it.

Ubuntu here using Docker. I would say its far from easy if your not familiar with Linux. What stage are you stuck at?
