The issue going forward with Spiceworks On-Prem is the Email Authentication support, although current delayed its going to return and Spiceworks have no said they won't be updating the app to support a new auth method. Spiceworks Cloud is based in the US so far from ideal for UK Schools. They are introducing a on prem version of the Cloud Helpdesk but it's still very much a beta and doesn't support ticket migration. So from my point of view, Spiceworks doesn't currently have a long term option for schools to move to.

I found that if you open a link from an email it loads fine. Once your logged in it continues to work for that session.

Your right, I'm likely to use a VM and apply a machine policy limited to just that machine (Save turning loopback on). I'm pretty sure it won't affect existing users but I can use this to confirm that. Just wonder if anyone else had gone through this process. I'll have a look later today and report how I get on.

Hi All, I'm wondering if I should be looking at KFM for our new September intake. However I've hit a bit of the block on how to start testing it. I'd like our existing year groups to remain using folder redirection so with my group policy setup I can do this and not apply anything to the new accounts. However the Known Folder Move group policy settings seem to be machine ones, no user. So I'm wondering if other people have done this or done any testing? If you apply the setting to all machines does it skip students who still have folder redirection set? I know it now supports moving files from a UNC path but you need to set it to Not Configured so as far as I can work out it'll skip those. I guess it also skips anyone who doesn't have OneDrive setup? Thanks, Rob

Not that I know of. We're using the A1 Plus licences you can get if you have a volume licence with Microsoft but that just add the ability to download Office as far as I know.

Yes your A1 licence should give you access to Teams. You need to enable it in the 'Apps' section when setting a licence if its not already enabled.

Yes you can. You need to sign in to each you can't use 'Additonal Mailbox' for example to add the second but you can sign in to two seperate Office 365 accounts on Outlook (Desktop & Phone). Plus on any Office program, for example Word allowing you to save to either O365 SharePoint or OneDrive.

We're using Nano-HD inside and some AC-Mesh-Pro outside to cover our ruby pitch and tennis courts etc. Been stable (As you'd expect from any network kit) and trouble free. Some older devices take longer to connect to it than our older 802.11n Ruckus system we had, however most of these laptops are now being returned as there around 7 years old. Controller is setup on an Unbuntu VM. If your not used to Linux, like me, then its a bit of a job to setup. We have a BYOD network setup with radius authentication to our Smoothwall. Users connect using domain username and password, then have to agree to terms on the Unifi portal, this then redirects to the Smoothwall HTTPS certificate download page. However a lot of Android phones go 'Yey connected, close that job done'. So we've got a QR code and address in our office for staff to manually enter, download the certificate and install.

I forgot to rename the file until your message this morning. Just done it now and its working! Thank you. Do you know if this folder will be replaced / re-created overtime or after an update? I'd rather not have to delete or rename it on all my staff and students accounts.

That is odd. I think you might need to log a Microsoft support ticket for that one.

I've changed the sync client setting (It was on the old client for SharePoint) so I'll leave it to this afternoon and reset Teams. Fingers crossed! Well done getting this out of Microsoft.

Have your tried assigning a student with a staff licence and seeing what happens? To confirm its a licence problem and not some other setting which remains pointed at the student account even after changing the licence.

As has been said, avoid big teams of students it's a bad idea. We created a SharePoint site per subject for 'General subject resources' which won't get archived at the end of the year. Generally staff create year group folders on this.

Just reporting I'm seeing the same thing here.

We don't use the SIMS ID Link system (Was told we needed a licence for this so gave up). However we do take CSV files from SIMS and use Microsoft SDS to create teams. In our setup it doesn't bring any staff departments in. We manage those manually in Office 365.

UWS has done a few of these in the past (Only staff). Permission was got from staff but we didn't get any copyright permission. However we host it on YouTube and link it to the copyright owner. YouTube has a system for 'sort of' granting you a licence to use music. However they can take it down at any time but often just restrict it to countries and you can't make any money from it.

We go for any panel which is cheap enough. So long as its Full HD, Hard Glass screen, more than 1 HDMI input and supports HDMI detection. Last ones we got were Sharp BigPads and quality is quite good. However, as above, depends if you need ActivInspire or any other board specific software.
