  1. Sorry to jump on this thread but I support a school who have purchased these laptops. We're still just trying to get them imaged correctly. We've managed to image them but the touchpad doesn't work. I put all the drivers from Lenovo in MDT but I'm seeing an 'Unknown Device' in device manager. I don't think it's the touchpad as manually pointing to the touchpad driver doesn't work. I think it might be a internal IO port of some sort. So could I ask if any of you have run in to a similar issue before you ran in to all the above. Then it sounds like I'll get a bit further and run in to the same issues your all having!
  2. Does the printer have USB as well as networking? I've used both in the past with two separate networks and no way to pass traffic between them.
  3. Shows open! http://www.ygrs.16mm.org.uk
  4. School Policies by any chance? A handy plugin for Wordpress is File Replace. Meaning you can name your Policy: ICT-Agreement.pdf and just replace it every time it's updated or reviewed.

  6. Perfect Tim, could you send me a link to download it on PM or email?
  7. The issue I'm having is I'm having to install it on my admin account, which then installs to the admin account AppData folder. So I'd like to be able to install it to Programs Files as suggested above. I believe @Arthur created a MST file for this judging by the information in the thread?
  8. How often do school have power cuts? I'd say for us they are just as likely if not more likely than the internet feed going down (Leased Line + Backup). Unless your going to have a big generator, school just copes or if it's a long one, shuts.
  9. Sorry to bump this thread but I'm wondering if I can get an update from you @Arthur and @timbo343 on how your deploying Skype For Business Plugin to machines for all users. We're running in to the same problem, with AppLocker blocking it, standard users not able to install it and it install to the users account. I'd like to be able to install it for all users, even if it's just manual. I believe I need the MSI and MST (Could you PM me it?) then set the firewall rule up and we should be away. I think?
  10. It's a gravity gravy train today!
  11. They move every time you close your eyes!
  12. As promised, more fun in Yorkshire! This time from my very own railway. https://youtu.be/9kZdDaB014o
  13. We have MFA enabled on the sync account and it only asks for MFA when making changes. Not when running a sync etc. The same as Outlook desktop or mobile apps don't re-ask unless you change security settings or device your using.
  14. P1 is all we needed.
  15. Our own videos will be released soon. We started with more Yorkshire puddings than appear on film that's all I'm saying. Ha
  16. Proof readers need to check more than just text.
  17. I'm a member of the Yorkshire 16mm Garden Railway group. During lockdown we've not been able to meet up, which has led to us get inventive in the garden. More videos to follow as we lead up to our virtual show.
  18. I get the same 'Sign in' message as well. I use a Smoothwall for my radius. I get this on my Android phone.
  19. Yes I think you do. If you have the APs in a range you can enter a range on the Smoothwall to save time.
  20. 4Gon have a warranty service, I think they'll charge for repairs outside of warranty. Or they'll sell you a new one.
  21. A couple of days before lockdown we enabled this. You need to ask for a second authentication method first (Email, Phone or Security questions which you can create your own). It's been extremely useful during lockdown and also meant we could on board our Year 6 students with them resetting password as there first task once logged in.
  22. I'd say someone could access just as much confidential information outside of SIMs than they could in it. Let's face it, how many areas do we store things in because storing it in SIMS is either not possible or just crap. To my mind, your better off doing SSO and training staff to lock computers. It's give and take, you provide quicker access and they follow the rules of locking computers. If you take the view an extra login solves the issue of computers being unlocked, your admitting staff can't follow rules. How many other rules are they then not following? Don't share password, don't email kids details to your home email. Don't give you login details to the visitor you have in class today, in case the screen locks. It's up to SMT at the end of the day to enforce rules. You can make staff happy by getting rid of another password.
  23. We have a single database (SharePoint List) which is our inventory for insurance and PAT records. Any items over £100 (Insurance requirement) or any item with a plug gets added. We try to add them when new so they don't get missed later on. We PAT test if required at this point just so the item is on the database with a retest date. All items have an asset number (also used for PC naming) Any items which move around are on 1 year, fixed but plugged in items are on 2 years. So for IT that's desktops and monitors on 2 years and laptops on 1 year. The database tracks when items need doing, but we tend to do whole rooms at a time so things get done in batches. However, we also test based on risk. So if an bit kit is moved which still has 1 year to run, we'd test it. Might as well while it's moved. Of course same applies with damage or repaired items. Test before reuse. All testing done in house.
  24. We don't grant the Skype for Business or Yammer licence to students and it's had no affect on Teams use.
  25. I'm sure it did work but that was a number of years ago before I synced with AD.
