Just using the retention policies here, no onsite or offsite backup for the data in Office365. We now have all shared areas in Office 365 plus a lot of personal areas. The plan is to migrate any remaining local personal storage later this year. One question I would have, is who do these backup companies use for data center storage? Do they have there own full data center? I'd guess not and they'll pay others. So really your just protecting Microsoft going bust or deleting your accounts, blocking access etc. No backup is full proof, so you have to weight up the risks decide as a school. For us, we've put effort in to data protection, central Office 365 storage (If you can't find a document, then it's gone, backup or no backup) which we believe is worth more than paying for another backup service. I have nothing against others who have gone with a separate backup, if you can justify the cost, do it.

[bromcom] SIMS to Bromcom User defined fields & linked documents migration
robyholmes replied to Jaan's topic in MIS Systems
No it's not free. I can't find it on there website but if you contact them you'll get a price. We're still in the testing period so we've not used the process yet but intend on doing. -

SalamanderSoft can export from SIMS, although only student information not staff (At least last time I checked before Christmas) https://www.salamandersoft.co.uk/ -
Coronavirus: General discussion (see opening post for rules)

It's up to schools if they want a phased return if they can't test all students in one day. -
They might shed a tear..

Internet speed - Is this normal?

I also believe the Smoothwall graph is traffic going through guardian only, so any non Web traffic or auth bypass etc doesn't get included. -
So it's still not sending back events, or it didn't send back the old events. When I do this on the Net2 Plus controllers we have they normally send back old events, but I guest a Nano might not have enough onboard storage so it hasn't kept the old logs? Paxton support are normally amazing so if your still stuck, give them a call.
-
I don't have any Net2 Nano's but if you go to your doors view, select that 'Door', do you see a 'Reinstate' button at the bottom? That forces it to reconfigure the door and I've found that can solve events not being sent back.

Projector that displays on two walls?
robyholmes replied to TMBS's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
A large mirror, or one on a selfie stick? Two large displays I think is your only option here, but gets expensive if you want touch as well. -
I've had a support case open with Microsoft for guest being able to join from a mobile device without having '(Guest)' added to their name. Microsoft admitted the problem and have been working on it. Yesterday I was told this: I've done a test today and it's not fixed for me yet, but this fix is hopefully on it's way out to clients.

We set up Azure Self Service password reset just before lockdown and it's been a god send. Very very rare do I need to do a reset now. If I do, I use the students date of birth along with some text. I have a webpage on our website which doesn't appear in the menu, but is public. It's got instructions on how to login. Working out your username and password. Follow by how to change your password. I send them / parents a link to this. This page was used for new starters to start with but has been used for resets as well.

Has anyone found a Uservoice for it? -
Have a look at Elementor, very good site builder for WordPress. As for hosting, I use Siteground WordPress offering for multiple sites.

I understand them to be a tool you use, no external access to data used in them, stored locally (or in a cloud system you already use). Bit like a pen or filing cabinet.

That doesn't look like vaccination stats to me, but maybe they are just going round in circles? -
Yes they can.
-
They have ant-i bodies too.

I've now got Office 365 support to replicate the issue but they've not yet confirmed if it's going to be fixed. I've also heard back from Microsoft UK Education Support to say they are waiting to hear back from the development team. Lets see what happens.
-
It didn't matter to us at the time but yes I believe Microsoft can provide you with a powershell command to do that. However if they've already taken a copy of the link there isn't anything you can do. Other than complain to Microsoft.
-
Yep, a deleted / cancelled meeting can still be joined with the link. We had this issue and we reported it to Microsoft but they said it wasn't a support issue.

You need P1 for self password reset yes. You can also use it for easier MFA roll out for staff by whitelisting the school external IP.

I've confirmed this morning on my own setup that joining from the android app as a guest doesn't show with (Guest) on the end of the name. Meaning you can spoof another invited user and the organiser can't tell the difference. Has anyone tested with the iOS app? I've opened a support ticket via Office 365 and emailed Microsoft Education Support

Do we know if Microsoft is aware of this? If you have external access disable does it still work?
