An old head of ours took our school logo colour, green, and went a bit mad with it. For the last 5 years we've been trying to reduce the number of things that are green to combat it. Think green carpet, chairs, table, walls, curtains... Yer not great. So 90s for me, pink isn't my thing and as you can see, green is out! Thank you @VeryPC_Nicole

We have done this although we've not gone for everything scanned in, in one go. Bit at a time. Papercut on MFD allows scanning directly to SharePoint. SharePoint site setup with folders for leavers years, then scan actions for each folder. So you pick the year they left, load up the paperwork (Which hopefully will go through the document feeder), name the file with the students name and click scan.

Are these like the NYCC devices with a program on them that VPNs the proxy traffic. We reserve the IP and just put them in Auth Exceptions so nothing is filtered etc. This was agreed with the head and as it requires a manual step to setup, it's not a additional risk.

Ping a device on another VLAN if you can next time. See if you get the same result as pinging the Smoothwall.

Can you add a range? I have a Smoothwall myself and I have all the APs in a range then just add that as a single client.

Yer that's what I thought. Doesn't show anything linked with our Unifi system requesting Authentication. So I can see from the Unifi it sends the RADIUS request, but gets a rejected response back. Smoothwall doesn't show any logs in the Authentication log which link to this. I've tested with NTRadPing on my PC, changing the address on the Smoothwall for the RADIUS client. I get the same reject response from the Smoothwall. If I don't have the IP set in the Smoothwall I get a timeout (As expected). So I know the Smoothwall is responding with the reject, I just don't know why.

Hi All, We had our Unifi system linked to Smoothwall and it's been working great for a few years now, until today. I'm found some logs on the Unifi system telling me it's getting a RADUIS reject message back from the Smoothwall, however I can't find any RADIUS logs on the Smoothwall itself. Can anyway tell me where these would live? I'm sure I've found them in the past. Thanks, Rob

Understandable, I like a wall plates too for that reason. Not an ideal solution but might be the only option short term. I've come across USB issues before and installed a USB hub at the board end to solve that. Maybe a powered HDMI hub at the board end would help.

Would a powered/active HDMI cable help?

If you unplug the device, wait 30 seconds then plug it back in while it's still on (Or disconnect wireless for wireless devices), goes it sort it? Or do you have to get a new IP address?

We have a SharePoint intranet with links to Bromcom. I was just asked to have it in the taskbar. Edge can do this already, just can't find a way of doing it via Group Policy.

Check privacy permissions in Windows Settings. You can block apps access to the camera.

I could, I just try and avoid desktops as staff like to fill them and complain when they can't find the shortcut.

Hi All, We've recently moved to Bromcom and I wondered if anyway had found a way of creating a shortcut on the task bar to Bromcom? So staff can launch it directly from the taskbar? I know you can do this in Edge but I'd like to find a way of pushing it out from Group Policy. I can create a .url shortcut in the start menu and I've tried using our StartMenu layout XML which also pins taskbar shortcuts, but it doesn't seem to pin a .URL. Thanks, Rob

Hi All, I'm still getting to grips with SCCM and I've run in to a problem I'm sure should be simple, but I'm unable to resolve it. I'm wanting to create a device collection for Windows 10 machines. Any OS build I'm not worried. I used the method laid out here for quite a while: https://thewintelpro.co.uk/create-windows-10-collection/ However I found out today some machines missing from it. The machines were running 20H2 but I don't know if the issue was caused by that. Last ones I got came from this lot. https://www.yorkav.co.uk/ Custom made HDMI and USB-B on fly leads. They do come out the front but seem a good quality. They are stiff when you connect them. As mentioned a right angled connector is a good idea as well.

SOLVED Turns out the issue was with the Windows PE version in MDT. I was still running the ADK from 1803. I removed that and installed 2004 (With the Windows PE addon installer) and updated the deployment share. New boot file imported to WDS and it's worked! So I guess the driver didn't support something in Windows 1803, but does in 2004 which is the latest ADK you can get.

With weather improving we've been able to get out and run trains again. This time in my parents garden. Here is Ali Shan, based on a 18 tonne Shay from the Ali Shay Forest Railway, Taiwan. Around £1000 to £1500 per door, depending on if its a single or double door, reader both sides etc. You could install yourself but I'd get first few done by someone else. Then maintain yourself and learn how they do it. Try go for POE powered to keep costs down, just put UPS in your cabinets if you don't already have them. If you go for Paxton Net2 Pro you can link one door to the fire alarm and then use the software to release the rest, saving on fire alarm integrations. As long as you have a break glass as well your meeting regs. C-Tech are who we use, fantastic firm! Price might be higher than some but they think about everything and you get a good end result because of it. Yer shows the GUID of the driver and says its injected it. Then you PXE boot it and it says the network driver is missing. The Vendor, Device and Revision numbers shown match those listed in the driver INF file.
