To be fair, this was when it was new, ha. Although three years in now and it's still not looking bad at all. No the stands are not fixed down. They do like to move them around a bit but the network cables stop them going to far. Each PC lines up with a double socket so it's easy to put them back in position to pander to my CDO (OCD).

We used 900mm worktop on top of custom legs which sat far enough back you wouldn't bang your legs. Trunking on top with the middle row of computers have the trunking down the middle so no cables can fall off the back of the desk etc. They always stay on the worktop. PC wise we have VeryPC Micros attached to the back of monitors which have a cable cover so students can't pull out cables. They can still play with the power adapter and screen cables mind so it's not perfect, but working well for us.

But I've just come across this script to updating the Teams MSI automatically! https://github.com/microsoft/TeamsMsiOverride You can automate the client check and my next job is to automat the MSI download as well by running the PublishLatestVersion script on a server. I've been having problems getting the MSI to update for sometime, so this goes someway towards that. Shame it still has to create a copy per user mind!

That seems to some it up. Masi and the stewards didn't want to get involved, but got very involved. Why didn't they just go racing for one lap with lapped cars in between. Let Merc and Red Bull lobby other teams to move or hold rather than lobbying the stewards. Teams should be able to contact the race director, but the race director should reply with the rule code they are following. "We are doing 12.3". That's that, if you want to protest it, do it after the race. Masi doesn't have respect like Charlie did because he tries to justify decisions, which just encourages teams to fire back. Decision made, done, move on.

Site per department. Makes permissions easier and means they can create pages including links and news posts. We have all department student resource sites as a sub site of a school portal which has school news, links, calendar and news from all sub sites.

Yes we are. Gone from using Access, to SharePoint (With access front end) to just Lists (Which is just the SharePoint list, but in the 'Lists' app. Works well. Search could be better but otherwise works for what we want. We have a List of rooms and then use a lookup column in our Inventory (Which is also PAT records) so we can pick the room it's located in. Just make sure versioning is switched on. It's a very helpful feature especially if like us you do PAT testing as well. It means you can look back at old results and what rooms the device has been in. EDIT: Above is asses / inventory. Did look at helpdesk via it but to many issues. Using free account on Freshdesk and it works very well.

As far as I can see they are. That's why I'm so confused as the Smoothwall logs shows them but it's allowing them. However one or two of the URLs show Error 400 Bad Client Request and that matches the error 400 on the Office error message as well.

Solar inverters and battery systems still require mains power to work, mainly as a safety. If they carried on working during a power cut, you'd be back feeding the grid keeping your neighbours lights on. It is possible to go off grid but needs extra gear. However as we have more micro generation and storage, either at home or in the community. It should make keeping the lights on easier. We just need to make the grid smarter to cope with the loss of connections.

Hi All, Has anyone got Office 365 Desktops Apps automatically updating via a Smoothwall? I'm getting an error which says: Looking at the Smoothwall I don't see any blocked web addresses in the web filter. However it does show a code 400 (Client error) for http://officecdn.microsoft.com.edgesuite.net/ Thank you, Rob Holmes

How are you assigning groups on the Smoothwall?

Xibo is very flexible but does need a bit of Linux work to get up and running. If the content you want to display could be public, then you could look at some free cloud services such as Screenly or Risevision. You can of course protect them but they tend to be US based so makes data protection an issue. However if it's all information on your public website then you should be fine (Don't quote me on that)

The only accounts we block internet access on are exam accounts and we use the fantastic ExamWritePad for that.

You mentioned the site is on the grounds of a school. Have you asked them if they can provide a Internet connection? The school might be happy to share some bandwidth in return for a monthly payment. If not, you could find out the ISP they use and ask them for a quote. They should have a better idea of installation costs having already got a line in to the school.

Surely your going to simply move the energy usage from school to home, the carbon footprint is likely to remain largely the same? In fact once you factor in the batteries efficiency when charging and discharging, plus replacements, damage etc. I doubt your going to reduce a carbon footprint at all. If your doing for for allowing better access to IT resources outside of school hours, then yes, I can understand it. But to reduce the energy bill, very odd reasoning.

The automatic sync normally applies in the first 15 minutes of a new login we've found if that helps.

I'd check with your ISP as we had DDOS that lasted for around 5 minutes multiple times in the past. It's cheaper to do for such as short time period but you still get the desired effect.

Konica Minolta are OK, but Sharp are the best I've come across.

You enter the answers in to the paper from what I've seen. Not sure how exam boards really expect you to use them.
