@VeryPC BIST CPC for odd bits -
Have you considered mounting a USB hub somewhere which can be easily replaced if damaged?

How you deal with requests. Helpdesk, website unblock request, new starters etc. Basic processes needed for the first week.

If you don't need them to make forms, try removing the licence (Or app) first from that student in Admin Center.

Google App Inventor 2 - Anyone using it?
robyholmes replied to robyholmes's topic in Educational Software
Is anyone using an emulator or just using physical phones for testing? If so did school purchase the phones/devices or are you using student phones? -
[ms office - o365] office 365 or office 2016

Which is exactly what Microsoft don't want people doing, using 2019 rather than 365! I've put my thoughts back to my reseller on the matter so they can pass them on. Maybe if a number of people do this they might just listen...maybe. -

Could I ask what others are using for the emulator? -
Microsoft Teams - Anyone using in a school environment?

What do you have in your 'Display Name' for your staff? We use Mr J Bloggs for example so students (and staff) see this in teams. -

Messaging Policy is correct and disabling 'Chat' in that policy. However have you don this on the global policy or a student one. If a student one make sure its applied to students as by default the 'EduStudent' policy Microsoft creates isn't. I created my own policy and applied that to students. -

I'm still being told this is EES customers only not OVE/ES customers (Which most schools should be on? If I'm not mistaken as EES is for companies with other 500 staff (Or licences)) -

I'll contact my reseller again then and see what they say. Last time I asked I was told it was EES customers only, despite it being rolled out world wide. -

Can anyone confirm if DBA licencing is only available to EES customers? This is what I was told when I last asked my reseller for it but there didn't seem to be any solution for us OVE customers, IE the majority of schools in the UK who aren't in the trust. -

Is this still limited to EES only customers rather than OVS which most schools are now on? -

Do you allow your students access to email? If so that's basically chat in Teams. In fact, in the back end of things like Security and Compliance you'll find that chat messages appear in content searches appear as emails. -
Very odd. Have you got Office 365 URLs in your proxy bypass list?
-
I simply copied the URL as its displayed in the Powershell window. I didn't remove or change anything. As for how long it takes. I've only done a small amount of testing but so far its been less than 30 minutes and I would say normally around 10 to 15.
-
Who have you got the URL? Via a powershell command or via the link on the site itself? The link on the site needs to be checked and some bits changed as its formatted as a URL. Microsoft have some information on it here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/use-group-policy#configure-team-site-libraries-to-sync-automatically I used the script found here: https://www.blackforce.co.uk/2019/09/12/sharepoint-copy-library-id-missing-for-team-site-libraries-sync Once I'd got the script to run (Using MFA here so needed the start changing) it gave me the Library ID which worked.

Both Prevent Access to C & Redirection of AppData is not advised. We've moved back to local for AppData to solve problems with redirected AppData. In terms of this issue, there's a few things: Why are they not saving to the normal locations (Documents, Desktop etc) How are they getting to AppData or is the program just defaulting to it?

We invited them to a 'MIS Demo' day/s with our key MIS users and they said 'Sure we'll show you SIMS.net 7... no we could do with seeing your SIMS 8 product. They said 'Its not ready to demo yet'... Take from that what you want.

We had the same issues with fingerprints although the tills didn't tend to lockup, they just wouldn't find any finger prints until the server was restarted. As for the software, its very much cobbled together anyway and how to get it to work. Got an error during the installation, ignore it and copy the file manually afterwards. No wonder they charge so much for installation, its all the wasted time solving the errors with their own installer.

Captura - Open Source Screen Capture App for Windows

I think I'm to used to Microsoft software or 'We paid ££££ for this education software that needs admin rights to run' because that is far to easy! Thank you! -
Hi All, I've had a request to look setup Google App Inventor 2: https://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/ai2/setup I've had this setup on our system back in 2016 I think it was but we were Windows 7 then without AppLocker if I remember right. I remember it being a pain to run then so I had hoped it might be a new program now. Doesn't look like it though. Are people running it on Windows 10 with AppLocker running? If so any tips? We're likely to also need the emulator setup as well. Thanks, Rob
