  1. No, I don't think I students change anything they really want to keep changed so not bothered.
  2. We're running 1803 + UEV + UAC with no roaming profiles or AppData redirected and its working fine. Hope that helps a little bit.
  3. Got Adobe CC? If so try disabling the Updater service. Solved it for us.
  4. Do you have AppData redirected by any chance? We had to get rid before CC would work. We've also had to disable it running on startup and disable the updater service as it kept locking up the machines on log off or on for the next user.
  5. I use the purchase system on Spiceworks here then check with Business Manager who much I have left. Works for us as we're small but I should think larger schools needs a more managed system.
  6. We have Eclipse but I'm sure the menu structure is similar for Junior Librarian. Why the students would be moved without you doing anything is odd. Any link with MIS going on?
  7. Do the students show up in the recycle bin?
  8. You can sign up for an Educational Account which gives you access to instructions for download an 'Admin' installer for Fusion 360. No MSI in sight of course so I had to come up with a crude batch file to install it. Seems to be working and can deploy new versions when released. (Sign up for email alerts for this, otherwise the first time you get to know is when student can't open work) PS: Infact you don't even need to sign in to view the instructions: https://damassets.autodesk.net/content/dam/autodesk/docs/pdfs/Advanced_Fusion360_Lab_Installation_Instructions_en-GB.pdf
  9. I have some of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/promethean-ACTIVPEN3-1-Promethean-Activpen/dp/B003B4VGC8 PM me if you want some and we'll work something out.
  10. The difference is they have the fact you pay for services up front and clearly shown. Where as Capita like to advertise 'You can link up with Office 365, set it up now' then fail to mention anywhere even in the guides that you need a licence first.
  11. Hi Andy, Can you confirm which version your after? The thin straight version (ActivBoard 2 I believe) which is grey and orange? If so I might be able to help you out as we have a few. Drop me a PM and we'll work something out. Cheers, Rob
  12. With OneDrive on Office 365 it does offer a 'Redirect Personal Folders to OneDrive' in Group Policy. Not tested it yet as I'd like to move shared areas at the same time but I'm hoping its as simple as it appears.
  13. Shame Capita require a SIMS Online licence to sync to Office 365 automatically. We asked our LEA for prices and were told 'If you have to ask you likely can't afford it'.... Back to CSV file uploads I go.
  14. Autodesk don't offer anyway of pre-registering students. They have to register themselves. We've had lots of problems with students doing this but not being approved. So after 30 days they get locked out and have to wait until Autodesk decide they are indeed a student. We've not taken to setting up some generic accounts for students to use if they can't get logged in. Either because they aren't old enough or there waiting on Autodesks approval.
  15. My understand is all school traffic should be monitored. So any school guess is included in that. For example, why shouldn't a guest working with a student be monitored? They could be alone with that student just like a member of staff. The other thing is, how do you know that its a guest using the guest account and not a student? For me the decision was easy, monitor everything (Bar lettings which fall outside our school hours and thus are not school traffic) and make sure guests agree by connecting. Its both on the BYOD sign in page and the paper copy of their login I hand out to visitors.
  16. We have three BYOD networks, Students, Staff & Guest. All require a AD account to authenticate which means our Smoothwall can filter and log based on this. We create a AD account for each guest and all three BYOD networks have HTTPS inspection (So users must install the certificate). Guides are shown on the portal page when connecting. Its time consuming creating the accounts but covers what DFE require and means all your filtering and logging is done by one system in one manor. If something does go wrong you want to find the information quickly.
  17. 1. High School 2. 400 Users 3. 100Mbps Leased Line (Moving to 100Mbps over 1Gbps barrier soon + FTTC backup) 4. Leased Line 5. Around £5,400 a year for the new 100/1000 + FTTC going in soon (36 month term) We're a very rural school so I expect costs to be higher. We're a small school but are wanting to move to cloud storage a lot more. So we're well within the 100Mbps line we have now, but the 1GB barrier we're moving on to allows future expansion without a long wait or extra installation costs.
  18. We use Office 365 pretty heavily here. We're not using Yammer but everything else is used. In terms of backups, it depends how wide you want to class 'Backup'. Office 365 runs across multiple data centers making it geo redundant. Previous versions of documents provides you with the 'I deleted that image last week). Then you can apply retention policies from a whole school level to keep data for x number of years.
  19. I think these are what Microsoft referrers to as 'Contacts'. Its a user which has access the a document or part of your Office 365 tenancy which required them to sign in (No to Office 365 but with a Microsoft account). For example if you share a file with [email protected] and tick the 'Authenticated' option, that person must sign in using their Microsoft account to access your file. They are added to your 'Users' list so the system can track them for audit logs etc.
  20. The way I look at is, your FTE count might be 60 but you have 70 staff (Job shares, part time workers etc). So are you only going to give 60 staff 365 ProPlus licences? Or all 70? What about students? They get a licence but you don't included them in FTE. Why does Microsoft give us an unlimted number of these licences if we need to limit them by FTE number? As long as your EES agreement numbers are correct (At the time of renewal remember, no all year round) then they grant you ProPlus licences to use how you want. Keep it within reason and Microsoft won't worry about it and change the rules.
  21. Best method we have found is the following: Don't delete all - Just delete if the printer isn't needed or available for that user Use the GPP Create first Then follow it with an update for the same printer Don't know why it needs a create, then update as a update should do the job. But for us we very rarely get a missing printer now... touch wood.
  22. Hi @ass17, Firstly, myself and our exam officers love your software! Huge thanks. Did someone at some point ask about changing the font colour or adding a line of text when the student enters extra time? During our Mocks we've asked students to type 'Extra Time' in there work to do this. I seem to remember if being requested but can't see it in the latest change log? Thanks
  23. Could you give the user two alisas, salesmanager@ and salespa@ for example. Then use exchange rules to add signature to emails sent from these accounts?
  24. Nothing negative here. Well worth doing. Run the command to check afterwards. I found it only applied to half my users. I had to redo command to get rest. Can't remember how now.
  25. We also looked at this, but you have to be careful about support and installation costs. We don't have the installation files so can't do it ourselves. Paying the provider to do it on our own hardware gives them the chance to recope lost earnings. IE they charge you an arm and a leg.
