Browsing Edugeek to get an idea of salaries for a role is a terrible idea. They’re so variable, for the same role (£10k+ in extreme cases) that of course they’ll try and low-ball it. They will find exactly what you have found - no one wants these jobs at near minimum wage - it’s not worth it.

Which controller did your build specify? The setup there is looking at the S100, but it may not be connected to the backplane. You can pop the top to check.
-
I may be wrong, but I don’t think the S100 is connected to the backplane. You’ll likely have another controller (P408i maybe?) that will have a setup BIOS - build your array (or leave it flat but configured) in that.
-
It’s often due to poor/hesitant connection to the MS servers it contacts to determine if it can get out of the LAN/WAN. Smoothwall can play a part in this. If it thinks that it has no access, it won’t even attempt to download drivers (despite having internet access).

Hearing lots of positives about Top Gun, probably in context (not an Oscar winner, but fun and exciting). Crack out Ace Combat 7 afterwards to live out your arcade flying ace fantasies!

i3 10th gen is not pretty old. i3 5th gen is pretty old. i3 2nd gen is crusty.

UPGRADE Azure AD Connect before September 2022!
3s-gtech replied to psydii's topic in Cloud Services
Back up (export) your configuration first! This *should* transfer between versions, but you'll be cursing if you have to re-set all of your options from scratch otherwise! Ask me how I know -
[ubuntu] FOG web interface no longer working after Ubuntu Update
3s-gtech replied to chrisakak9's topic in *nix
IME FOG will just brick when you make any changes to the host, unless you’re a Linux god. It may be worth running the setup script again, for the same version. -
Action cameras - basically GoPro knockoffs?

The printers themselves will probably have a discovery protocol - whether that's Bonjour or similar. These can usually be turned off from the web interface, just leaving what you actually need (usually Raw port 9100 or LPR).

You'd need bonding plaster to adhere, or render as suggested. No harm in skirting on top without repair, as long as it covers well and it's all dry. You could also dot-and-dab plasterboard strips behind the skirting.

May 2022 Windows Updates may cause issues with NPS and RRAS
3s-gtech replied to free780's topic in Enterprise Software
Thankfully not the case for us, but definitely something for you to bear in mind. I’m not sure how the cert could renew if it’s being used for the active connection, but I’m not certain on the whole process. Can you do it in a test scenario? -
May 2022 Windows Updates may cause issues with NPS and RRAS
3s-gtech replied to free780's topic in Enterprise Software
This is how we use AoVPN so that gives some reassurance - though I can re-deploy the certs from the CA easily enough post update. -
On the server? Had to manually patch it - https://customer.support-ess.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sys_kb_id=f63930aa1bf2091c551b8557d34bcbb0 On the clients? Check for updates in the console, it appears in the list, deploy.

Same - ESS fixed this for us very quickly. Didn't really focus on what they did to fix it - possibly just re-checking for updates (last 3 months) via Settings, then re-downloading those updates and seeing if the URLs update when doing so.

Though I have an iPhone, my in-car music is all iPod managed (an iPod Video and a Classic with an SSD in it). Just as well as music playback on iPhone with iOS 15.4 has gone to pot - no gapless playback any more!

The other end of that cable with the RJ11(?) on it may give the answer! Certainly looks like a remote power control.
-
It's a very simple circuit - a relay and those two jacks with what looks like a multi-voltage power input. Possibly a converter for powering the cameras over different cable types?

Same issue here, though SOLUS 3 is on 3.12.41.3 I can't deploy the latest version and there's no intermediate version showing. Edit: here: SIMS - Updating SOLUS3 to version 3.12.59.5 (support-ess.com) I've run this on mine and SOLUS3 on the server is now 3.12.59.5.

Yup, that's us! I doesn't really work now, right PITA on Macs and dead on iPads. Currently trying to get my head round ASM and Jamf licensing now!

We’ve managed to make 64GB drives work (just about to hit the ten year mark, remember when we all thought SSDs wouldn’t stick it?!) with a reasonable Windows image, but slim profiles have been the key. Still wouldn’t spec that now - all our new machines have 128GB which is stingey but not my choice to make. 256GB+. Fastest possible wifi for areas with trollies to give them half a chance - AX is working out okay for us. Thankfully we have been able retire everything on 802.11n.
-
Avoid the WD Red SMR drives. They're...poor. And they may be incompatible with other drives in an array.

We had the same on two mailboxes. Sadly, one was one of the AHs and they’re a proper moithering windbag (and one of my best friends) so had fun trying to diagnose that.

More power sockets, more network sockets! Always thought it’d be plenty, then end up trying to build stuff on MDT in there. Storage. Not shonky cupboards, but the whole store room next door would be good. Heavy duty shelves. A more professional ‘reception’ area for anyone coming there, instead of the junk piled around - a front desk. A system for bulk processing cardboard, and storing e-waste neatly.

Server 2022 - NPS and Always-On VPN Caution
3s-gtech replied to CHiLL's topic in Windows Server 2022
It's going to be worth splitting NPS off - right PITA that'll be though. Certs wise - thinking from a server perspective, perhaps there'll be a requirement for a stronger encryption level set on the AoVPN certificate template. The clients won't be the variable, it's the NPS server I'm wondering about.
