  1. Hi all. Tearing my hair out with Teams here. Some limited organisations and accounts, I can setup a meeting on our tenant and join it from that external account. For the majority, in testing, I get an error saying "This meeting doesn't allow guests. Please contact organiser." and I can't connect. Guest access in the tenant is on. External federation is on. It's turned on when I check via Powershell. No matter what I do, I cannot schedule a meeting to these external accounts and it actually connect, and it's got to the point where SLT are on at me about it (seeming to believe that pressure = results - telling me it's really important does not make it easier to fix). Any ideas? Google-fu weak - I have been through a lot of links already.
  2. HDMI (laptop end) to VGA adaptor, and use the VGA cable run which can connect reliably over longer distances (which we do in the hall - that is a very long cable!)
  3. Ryzen laptops can have DP over USB-C capability - look at the T495 for instance.
  4. Are you sure? If electrical cabling is ever getting warm, something is wrong - it being thermally insulated should make no difference in a domestic setting. Bear in mind it has to run through wooden joists, inside insulated studwork walls and ceilings too. Warm cables = too much current for the cross section
  5. I did this with our 2014 Mac Minis - the original shipped HDDs are 5400rpm and were rubbish when new. Carbon Copy Cloner on each, and the fiddle of swapping the disk. Pretty easy overall.
  6. We mainly use BenQ, with a few Optoma and Epson. The Epsons are the best. BenQ are cheap and cheerful with decent overall cost, but the Epsons are better built, more durable in the average dusty classroom, and are feature rich.
  7. I’ve just used CodeTwo’s tool, deleted any that had been set, and double checked I had the Outlook and Sharepoint settings done. The tool is great.
  8. Yes, P15, S3, and D.
  9. Sounds like it's not booting at all - possibly a failure of the flash memory? One disadvantage of Unifi stuff it seems - the warranty isn't amazing - though think all of the big players have cut the lifetime warranties out now.
  10. You need to remove recent Windows Updates. There's a long recent thread about it.
  11. I got it working by poking our one machine with a Rift attached through on an exceptions IP address, static. That machine can access Facebook.
  12. My cat had a rat this week, but he’s a big unit. Most will hesitate! My brother’s terrier is offended by the existence of any rat and insta-kills them. Even our gentle terrier cross will have them. It’s more likely it’s a mouse in your loft, and they make a lot of noise.
  13. I liked Nobody, but it did get a bit silly towards the end. I liked the quiet man taking a stand bit, but it turned into gun-porn war which was too John Wick for the overall theme.
  14. MS have created (yes, bought and developed) a product that (sceptical) IT staff are quick to defend. That shows you how good it is. It’s probably the best MS product we have on site.
  15. No inference of any extra funding for now, nor interactive screens (though they're available for us to purchase at a good price). Slow progress here, as doing our Wave 3 PCs will involve some infrastructure work and feet are being dragged!
  16. Education is never activated by a BIOS key - it's not an OEM licence. When it's installed, it'll be via a Volume Licensing Agreement and activated via another process.
  17. Wildlife camera. Operate off their own light source, battery powered, you can use it to watch hedgehogs once you've stopped the interloper.
  18. If there’s no Scope, it’s unused. It may still be there to apply periodically though, like an installation policy or script. Consolidating policies together, where that is appropriate, can speed up login times but don’t bunch too many disparate policies into one or it can be a nightmare to actually use day-to-day. Look at using WMI and Item Level Targeting where appropriate too.
  19. Nah. Build one orc/elf/dwarf, Ctrl (or CMD if you’ve got a trendy beard)+C, hold down Ctrl+V for a few hours, then plug it all into Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. Profit.
  20. Of course. Do you have a local scrap/recycling yard? These are often equipped for this job, and it cuts out the middle man. They tend to work in bulk but may collect the fridges for a reasonable fee, and they have the certification to provide disposal certificates.
  21. As a business, you really do want a certificate of disposal. The fridges need to be recycled properly including the gas inside (which is environmentally damaging). If that fridge then turns up dumped, you as a business will have a bad day.
  22. WSUS without AdamJ's cleanup script will eventually die. This is a commercially available script https://www.ajtek.ca/wam/what-is-wsus-automated-maintenance/ It will use as much storage as you have, otherwise. Using the script it stays fast and effective (though you may still get timeout errors in the console).
  23. If Renew is available, just use that. Some certs have to be re-created instead. As you don't use PM I'm not sure what the certs will be doing, but no harm in refreshing them.
  24. You can renew them from the Server app on the Mac, under Certificates. As they've been allowed to expire, you may have to re-enroll any iPads tied to it, and if you use Profile Manager it can be a mission to get it to work again.
  25. You really don't want your heater and fan controls on a touch screen. Manufacturers don't do it because it's better, but because it's cheap.
