USB 3.0 ports available? You could try a USB 3.0 to HDMI adaptor. If it has a USB-C connection it may be able to output via that too.

[tv show] Sir Trevor McDonald as the new GamesMaster

Got to be better than Go 8 Bit - that was really disappointing. It won't struggle to be funnier. -
WDS is one of quickest services to deploy out, having done it twice in quick succession here (different subnets) - it doesn't take a lot to justify it and it's ace. Not sure of the right solution if you're set on using the sticks though!

Nothing will force much of a price drop in reality - chip shortages are the big problem there. Competition is good though.

If the client has no internet access, they get the invalid keycode error. Probably the same if it’s blocked by filtering or if the servers are not responding. Not the best piece of feedback.
-
I should add - this is on a 1-1 issued student laptop with their account in Azure, the student has admin rights (sixth form). Not tested on a domain PC.
-
It’s downloaded and started on the one client we have here today. That’s on a separate SSID that doesn’t go via our Smoothwall, but is still filtered offsite. No performance issues so far.
-
Just gone straight onto the dashboard here. Not holding out much hope for the client though.
-
Remember when we had to run our own SecureAssess servers on site? You can see why now - cheap out on the infrastructure and make the client schools pay for it. Now it's cloud based, they're using the same cheaped-out infrastructure but without the load balancing of the intermediate servers.

TEAMS - allowing students to see previous years work
3s-gtech replied to m0bov's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
When archived, it hides the old Teams and makes them read-only. The old Teams are no longer written to so permissions stay as they were. We actually set up a new sync process this year due to some other changes, and we amend the school year to the Teams names so we haven't archived the 2020 ones this time - but if you don't do that there's a risk that the sync process will overwrite the old Teams memberships. -
TEAMS - allowing students to see previous years work

Their previous Teams will (hopefully) be set to archived - depends how you processed the year change. They can then view them by searching in the client. -
Do you definitely have .NET 3.5 installed on the client?

What age of machine? 7 isn’t supported by most newer hardware - that cutoff happened some time back too. Ryzen, Skylake - I think that’s the sort of cutoff.

It seems far too high to be accurate, but yes the board protection is normally on by default. Worth a check though! Remember the videos of K7 Athlons exploding off their boards when the HSF was removed? P4s of the time would just shut themselves down to the point that they'd lock up or be within thermal limits using the integrated heat spreader. Nothing to lose by trying it with the new cooler, and stress testing it.
-
It’s certainly worth checking first, as the others have said and if you haven’t already. Have you disabled IMAP and POP?
-
Yeah, rebuild. You’ll never trust it otherwise.
-
If that 154 degrees is accurate, there will have been some significant shortening of component lifespan going on. That’s enough to make the socket go soft - I would pull the CPU from the board to check it all. With a new cooler, check that the CPU and boards temperature protection is active. They are supposed to throttle right down to nothing.

British Rail logo designer appalled by green makeover ‘mess’
3s-gtech replied to 6Foot2's topic in General Chat
I really hope that leave it alone, longer term. It’s a stunning piece of simple, recognisable, relevant and timeless design. Still looks fresh. Colour change is silly and complicates it. -
I forgot about that one - I did our DCs in summer, 2012 R2 to 2019. All good apart from AADC - it basically broke. Had to reinstall it and try to remember all of the config. Export the config of AADC beforehand and you can import it back in if it breaks!

Okay, that suggests a hardware issue with the screen or the backlight driver hardware. Possibly due to voltage control, maybe weaker battery output. Can you swap another screen in from a similar model as a test?
-
Does the backlight work during POST/BIOS when on battery?
-
They're often the wrong way round for your connectors - you can split the connectors in the patch lead by twisting them up to down gently.

It's approaching from a different time period, so 'old Nate' could be done without any problems - NF (hell, even Nolan North!), Claudia Black, Emily Rose - what a great sub-cast that would be if somehow fitted in to the film franchise!
