    I'm not sure how appropriate using Microsoft/Google Forms would be for this but it's the first thing that came to mind. It is the responsibility of our Administration team (doesn't fall on IT) to collect and keep up to date pupil records and contact details. I know the admin staff send out a paper form half way through the academic year for children to bring back with any updated details.

    Last winter I upgraded my home office/gaming setup to a 34" ultrawide for productivity/content editing and 27" 144hz for pc/series x gaming, both 1440p, both by ViewSonic. No complaints at all considering they are entry level screens. Ultrawide - VA3456-mhdj 27 Gaming - XG2705-2K 27 Have a look on CCL Computers, perhaps the VX2718-2KPC-mhd suits your needs? Seen as though my setup is rather overkill and a pricey outlay, I used an introductory offer on PayPal credit over 6 months. Very good way to keep my setup nice and up to date without breaking the bank. Can't see much benefit of going all 4K high refresh rate, the prices are eye watering.

    Hello! I have been asked to run a KS2 Coding club (starting tomorrow, nothing like short notice eh!) and I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations on what free websites are out there to use? I'm hoping to identify a group of children to become 'digital leaders' to pass on IT skills to younger children and run this club as a curated group, rather than a baby sitting service So far we only use Code.org, which is awesome! and free iPad apps such as SpriteBox, ALEX, DaisyTheDinosaur, BeeBot/BlueBot/etc. We are a chromebook (and ipad) school so websites with Google SSO would be fab. Suggestions are very much appreciated, Thanks!

    Aldi is my best friend when it comes to the big shop, Although Uber have been shoving plenty of 30%/40% grocery codes my way recently which I won't complain about! Few months left of £80 car finance to go, that will be a nice figure to have back in the wallet. Partner and I are starting to look at purchasing our first home (help to buy scheme!) and planned to have each lightbulb LED homekit compatible, and adding the cheapo TP link smart plugs to TVs etc. I stumbled across a TikTok user 'frugallyfun' who uses a spreadsheet to track his spending and work out a daily average. May end up doing the same, as it's way too easy to lose track of what a cheeky takeaway or starbucks ends up costing! I've downloaded Snoop which shows great in-depth spending analysis and comparison graphs, compared to the bog standard Lloyds bank app.

    Adobe Spark is great for our KS2 ICT. We use it in class for creating collages, posters, logos, etc. All from the free templates. Children access via their Chromebooks and Google SSO. Would recommend!

    Hi all, Has anybody recently migrated from an MDM, to a new one? I am looking at ditching Lightspeed LSMDM, and moving elsewhere, probably Jamf. Mainly due to the price per device per year. I've also thought Lightspeed's customer support, and lack of updates since buying in to them in 2016 has been really poor! (I did hear from our reseller that Lightspeed are mainly focusing on their Security filtering and less bothered about keeping LSMDM cutting edge). Unfortunately our Lightspeed licence has ran out over half term, so I have no access to the console. However, I imagine all iPads will need manually resetting one by one regardless? We're a 2 form entry Primary, over 400 pupils, currently have between 250 and 300 iPads (thanks DfE scheme!). Looking for pointers in what direction to go with this, if anyone has been in a similar position, any advice would be greatly appreciated! A

    We've been on a rolling replacement of ancient espon projectors/activboards, and hitachi short throws/activboards over the past few years (however halted by covid). Replaced the majority with ActivPanel Titanium 75's.

    Hi all, I've ran in to an issue where around 10 Chromebooks disconnected from our WiFi, with the error 'DHCP lookup failed', theirs now around 20 Chromebooks doing this and I fear more may occur. Another issue to side note, is our UniFi Wifi is currently running un-managed as the server that was running the UniFi controller failed a couple of weeks ago, and we are awaiting are replacement on site server. (Currently ticking over on an ancient on site server that's acting as DC for the time being). The access point's are still able to broadcast the network even though it's controller no longer exists. Any pointers on where to start would be amazing, thanks!

    Hi all, We have been in our inspection window and likely getting the call in the new year. We are a primary school that uses Google Classroom and GSuite for ICT work in KS2, with KS1 mainly making work on iPads on apps such as book creator. Our computing lead is worried about ICT being deep dived. I am reaching out to ask how do your schools show evidence of work nicely for deep dives/inspections? (apologies if you have seen my post similar to this previously, however it wasn't very well explained/worded).

    Apple seem to have recaptured my loyalty to the iPhone brand. Went from iPhone 7 to Pixel 3XL to iPhone 11. Now my upgrade urges seem to be set on the iPhone 13 PRO. That cinematic mode and ProRes is a game changer for how much media and content I create, as well as capturing low light photos at gigs and festivals. Hoping for a 13 Pro refurb to pop up at a steal of a price, and sign up to a Smarty SIM only, their data packages are incredible value.

    We've transitioned over the last couple years from SIMS and Sage local server, to ScholarPack (fantastic for primary!) and Sage 200 Cloud. Made life much easier for our admin staff.

    Thanks. Will configure vault to retain. I have used the transfer to a generic account for last year, but unfortunately things prior to that are lost. I'm looking for more of a go-to display of computing evidence for if an inspection of our computing curriculum comes our way. Diving in to google classroom archives may not be the friendliest approach for outside agencies.

    Hello, My setting are asking about the best way to store Computing curriculum evidence and pupil work, for example an Ofsted inspection with a deep dive in to ICT. In my 5 years here, the first 2 were spent using Windows laptops and roaming profiles. Easy peasy. Since 2017/18, the school have been using Google Classroom, however since then, the school, SLT, Computing lead etc. have ​never​ asked for central storage/evidence of ICT work. Until now as they're flapping about inspection. Therefore after each academic year, Google Classroom's were archived, and the subsequent google accounts for school leavers get deleted, also meaning their work has unfortunately disappeared. (unless google drive data has been backed up). (teething problems/learning curve of GSuite!). My question is; How do you do it?

    My work use White Rose Maths as a maths scheme. It uses private Vimeo video links behind a paywall, embedded video link inside a web page you can only get to once logged in to their paywall 'premium resource centre'. Not ideal but perhaps and option.

    +1 for Unicabby, timer to charge laptops overnight is fab. (Although units are bulky) We're limited for space so have been going with the basic Zioxi trolley's with no smart charge.

    Hi all, I have recently installed a 27" Monitor in our Foyer, linked up to a Stone Mini PC hidden away in the reception office. Nothing fancy but should get the job done as a display screen. I've been asked to add some more information to our screen such as Safeguarding, contact details, twitter posts etc. What ways are you guys running display screens? So far I have just been using a PowerPoint exported as .mp4 and set it to fullscreen and loop on VLC player, worked well for a while but I'm running in to crashes and subsequent pop ups overlaying. I vaguely remember trying to setup Xibo on a VM, but with little success. Any super simple programs running off w10 would be fantastic, any suggestions welcome! Or shall I sink my teeth in to Xibo?

    Anything apple usually KRCS, unless an odd occasion of a need for something like an iPad Pro then I've had pleasant experiences buying refurbed equipment from laptopsdirect. Stone for windows devices and chromebooks.
