Hello, We've been using G-Suite for a few years now, and we've an issue with Classroom and e-mail. Specifically on the Student Work tab, there is a link to email students - however this seems to require Google Gmail set-up to work: We use Exchange in school - is there anyway anybody has found to get this functionality to work without using Gmail?

Hello, Is it possible when creating new users in Active Directory for them to have auto created Google Classroom Accounts? I've been trying to research it online and through this forum but haven't had the best of luck, and I apologise in advance if I am duplicating a thread that I've not found.

Hi all, We have been in our inspection window and likely getting the call in the new year. We are a primary school that uses Google Classroom and GSuite for ICT work in KS2, with KS1 mainly making work on iPads on apps such as book creator. Our computing lead is worried about ICT being deep dived. I am reaching out to ask how do your schools show evidence of work nicely for deep dives/inspections? (apologies if you have seen my post similar to this previously, however it wasn't very well explained/worded).

We recently set up Google Classroom email summaries for our parents, and in most circumstances the parents received the initial invitation and accepted without issue. However a number of parents have reported that they didn't receive the email. We have asked that they check their SPAM folder, but they advise that the email's definitely not arrived. There appears to be a pattern, and in most circumstances the parents are using either a Hotmail or Yahoo email account. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue, and were you able to resolve it? I read somewhere that perhaps the parent may also have a Gmail account, and that it is somehow linked to their Hotmail or Yahoo account. This isn't something we have managed to ascertain yet. Thank you in advance.

HI All, First time here! Our school uses SIMS, Wonde & Google Classroom which all works fine. Problem is we want Google Classroom (or Google Drive) for our Governors. We've created their account, but when they try to log in, it pushes them to the Wonde login - which they don't have. They don't have Wonde because it's created via SIMS - and Governors are not on SIMS. Anyone had a similar issue or thoughts on how to allow manual sign on to Google Classroom if your using Wonde to integrate? Many thanks!

How do you have Google Classroom synced to your MIS? I’m not looking for answers like Salamander or School Directory Sync although it would be interesting to hear thoughts on these or any other products that sync with Google Classroom too. I am really interested in what rules you apply (or the product you use applies for you) to the sync. We already run our own custom script to sync from SIMS to Google Classroom but it's the time of year where I start to wonder are we doing it the best way possible. Any thoughts welcome. For example... If a student is removed from a class in the MIS, do you remove them from the course in Google Classroom? What about teachers? If a student removes themselves from a course in Google Classroom but is still a member of the class in the MIS, do you add them back in to the course in Google Classroom? What about teachers? If a teacher has added another teacher or a student to the Google Classroom course who isn't a member of the class in the MIS, do you remove them from the Google Classroom course? If a course is archived by a teacher in Google Classroom but the class still exists in the MIS, do you unarchive it? Who is the owner of the courses in Google Classroom? One of the teachers from the MIS or a ‘dummy’ Google user? If a teacher has renamed the course in Google Classroom, do you name it back based on its name in the MIS? Thanks David.

During the pandemic we all went online, lucky we had locker connect installed and created all our Google Classes directly from Sims and we have happily used Google Classrooms since (Most resources are now in Classroom). Now the question is has anyone experience of how to do end of year? Do we: Archive all classes and then create new classes for the new year? (Teachers would be able to re-use posts from the previous year) Or Simply rename the Google Classroom from 10Tc to 11Tc keeping all work and assessment scores? Or Go to a Classroom template model were HODs create a template Classroom with all resources then copy it out (Only really works for year 7 & 8 who are taught in form groups mainly) Or Any other suggestions? I would be keen to speak to anyone who went through the process last year and the route they chose, pros cons etc as I would like to give SLT options before they put the question to middle leaders. Background is: All boys High school Windows Google G Suite Sims/ Moving to Arbor in the summer Locker Connect as our MIS integration with Google.

Our new principle is pushing for Google Classroom. Our whole infrastructure is Windows with teachers using laptops and roaming profiles. Our classrooms have teacher PCs connected to projectors and SMART boards. Getting Google involved in the mix doesn't seem backwards at all, but seems like we would have to drop 95% of our Windows clients and Servers. Questions: 1. What happens to AD, Roaming profiles etc? I have never used a Chromebook before so not sure how they work. 2. What happens to the 100+ Windows applications our teachers and support staff rely on. ProSolution MIS, Exchange, Odd Science apps, OFFICE!? I'm sure there are 101 things I haven't considered but you get the point.. Comments appreciated.

Hello, My setting are asking about the best way to store Computing curriculum evidence and pupil work, for example an Ofsted inspection with a deep dive in to ICT. In my 5 years here, the first 2 were spent using Windows laptops and roaming profiles. Easy peasy. Since 2017/18, the school have been using Google Classroom, however since then, the school, SLT, Computing lead etc. have never asked for central storage/evidence of ICT work. Until now as they're flapping about inspection. Therefore after each academic year, Google Classroom's were archived, and the subsequent google accounts for school leavers get deleted, also meaning their work has unfortunately disappeared. (unless google drive data has been backed up). (teething problems/learning curve of GSuite!). My question is; How do you do it?

Hi all, At the moment we use GAM to see the status of Guardian Invites for pupils, but the status of the guardian invitations is limited to PENDING and COMPLETE, and the invite is set to COMPLETE whether the invite is accepted, declined or the invite deleted by the teacher, is this the best/only information currently available for guardian invites? Thanks
