Our boys are able to mature at their own pace, supported and challenged by staff who are experts in teaching boys, and surrounded by peers to whom they can closely relate. During the pandemic we all went online, lucky we had locker connect installed and created all our Google Classes directly from Sims and we have happily used Google Classrooms since (Most resources are now in Classroom). Now the question is has anyone experience of how to do end of year? Do we: Archive all classes and then create new classes for the new year? (Teachers would be able to re-use posts from the previous year) Or Simply rename the Google Classroom from 10Tc to 11Tc keeping all work and assessment scores? Or Go to a Classroom template model were HODs create a template Classroom with all resources then copy it out (Only really works for year 7 & 8 who are taught in form groups mainly) Or Any other suggestions? I would be keen to speak to anyone who went through the process last year and the route they chose, pros cons etc as I would like to give SLT options before they put the question to middle leaders. Background is: All boys High school Windows Google G Suite Sims/ Moving to Arbor in the summer Locker Connect as our MIS integration with Google.

The arbor sales guy did say the way they normally work for secondaries is first a general presentation then a "deep dive" were they spend time with different departments.
-
Thanks. I went to an Arbor presentation and it looked very good seemed to cover most of what Sims does. It seemed to have great reporting and they where marketing it as about 30% cheaper than Sims. Downside was it had no staff appraisal section.
-
Hi So we are a secondary school and as far as I can see there is no hope left for Sims moving forward. I would like to know if any other schools have moved off Sims to a new MIS and what they have moved to and the issues they faced. Thanks
