I'd just ask them to hold tight whilst you figure out what the issue with Meet is. No point in bringing new tools for the sake of it. Or they can pay for the extra time maybe?

I think you'll see SIMS, Arbor/Scholarpack & Bromcom being the MIS of note for the next 5 years or so. There are still other challengers trying to enter the market too, and don't forget Integris is still around. Be interesting to see what happens if SIMS 8 ever does!

Most cloud MIS tools seem to revert to desktop for timetabling unfortunately. One of them really should try acquiring Skolaris!

As I've been saying all along, its a branding exercise for a reskin of Windows 10, and to launch the features shamelessly plucked from Chrome OS.

We're pushing replit.com Its about £550 for a year, but the features it has make it super simple.

We've got some iiyamas in, and I've been incredibly impressed with them, completely the opposite to what has been said here. Especially the USB-C connectivity and the on-device stuff for voting/screen sharing. One (admittedly higher spec) USB-C cable from the Chromebooks we use to the screen and they've got video, audio, interactivity and device charging in place. Complete game changer from not that many years ago having a VGA, 3.5mm jack, USB-A and a proprietary charging connector hanging out of a device connecting to a projector and an interactive surface, and cables going everywhere.

Use GAM or go into a Classroom the student is in, to check if the accept worked anyway. There have been a few issues where that occurs, but then they appear in GAM to have been successful.

I'm going to step this one up again. The fact that the alert needs to be installed and is trapped on Windows 10 rather than to the Teacher App and/or a browser extension really is a pain. Would love to see a Chrome/Edge Extension for the alerts at least.

Yes. There isn't a log for it in the Admin Console.

Chromebooks should automatically remove the content of older profiles on the device. Oldest (as in longest since last logged in on device) goes first.

Get a test machine ready, but I wouldn't push to move into any form of production - even Admin machines just yet. Though to be honest, the whole thing feels more like it's a reskin and rebrand of Windows 10 than the jumps between XP > Vista > 7 > 10.

Guardian Summaries are literally that - emails only. Primary School - Well, we don't want them to have it but we accept that parents might need them to help them. Secondary School - Nope. It's the kid's account. They wouldn't have access if it was a local account only - same applies here.

Yes. You can allow non domain users to join your classes. Yes. If I was a parent of an 8 year old, I don't want a random parent getting access to messaging my child in any way. The account is the child's not the parents. Maybe create a Google Site and then make it public, but don't advertise it to the world. The thing is SLT hire you for the experience and knowledge. You say no. If they over ride you, then get it in writing, because SLT will happily pass the disaster onto you.

D'oh. I read it as "how many have caught it from a parent". Ha. Well, that ones a tough one... Registration codes aren't that simple to pull out (Code X included anyone who isolated without having it) and I don't know what the protections should be on TNT information... Filter the column for year group. Remove name duplicates. 60/120 have had Covid whilst school was open since 23/03/2020. You can't include those who had it between March-July 2020 and January-March 2021. I would make that clear in my return.
