It's £3.20 per student per year if you do your whole school. 1 staff license with every 4 students ones. So if you've got 1500 students its £400 a month and you get all the administration tools, unlimited plagarism checking, unlimited Google Meet recording (which goes away after Autumn Term btw)

Let's not confuse sex, gender and pronouns. There is crossover but they're distinct. There is no reason you couldn't create a user defined field for the pronoun preference, I suppose - tho I think most MIS's should be attempting to include this these days.

Chrome Licenses are device perpetual for education. When you purchase them, you'll be asked what your primary domain is, and they'll be applied to your domain. You can go to the Devices section of your Chrome Admin Console and click the credit card image, it will tell you how many you've used and how many you have left. So if you get new devices, you need new licenses (unless they're like for like hardware swaps - damaged kit etc) but for your current kit, they last for the life of the device (Auto Update Expiration allowing!)

It happened before I started here, but I'm told so. Bromcom has sync to Office and Google. We use the Google sync for account creation and generally it has gone very well. @supportman on here has changed recently, so he might be the person to speak to!

Not in South West (Oxfordshire) but we use it as do several others here. We won't be going back to SIMS .net any time soon thats for sure! Just the freedom of being in the cloud and having something modern has made life so much easier for us.

You've disabled it via Apps > Additional Google Services > YouTube then you've turned it off completely for that OU/Group. The account has YouTube disabled essentially. Turn it on via that, but then turn on the "Users are under 18" for the Student OUs under Account > Account Settings > Aged Based Access Settings. If there are users under 18 in the OU, uploading of video is disabled but they can still watch those deemed appropriate.

Just like anything else, if you're teaching students - remember you're not teaching them one particular tool you're teaching them concepts - so don't get sucked into the idea of "industry standard" which is complete nonsense. Especially in audio and recording, because - in DAWs for example - lots would say Ableton, others would say Pro Tools, certain fruit based advocates will say Logic Pro. 15-20 years ago people would've said Cubase.

We have Parents Evening Booking built into Bromcom as an MIS. Do Capita not have a solution? We use School Cloud at the moment, as we are using video for Parents Evenings and plan to continue to do so this year, as it was such a success during the lockdowns with parents and teachers. I don't think I've ever seen any technology embraced so quickly and heavily as video parents evenings! They've just added blurring backgrounds and hybrid parents evening options too.

We are providing a YouTube tour video, interviews with pupils videos, prospectus etc on a web page, but we're also attempting a live open evening with prebooked sessions 5 minutes apart and names of all people on tours, so we know who is where and when. Of course ours is next week, but I wouldn't want to be attempting it live in a month or so.

Well, it looks entertaining. As set pieces go, that catching the molotov and throwing it back was simple and really effective. Hailee Steinfeld is a really good lead to get too. Her Transformers movie was the best one by far. Had no right to be as good as it was.

Better to report it as a breach and it not be needed, then fail to report it and it actually should've been, as far as I see it. It's a safeguarding issue as much as anything else.

There does seem to be a trend of weaponising SARs in this way recently. I'm not saying that is what's happening in this case, but you do see more of this happening by the week.

It absolutely should be. When these changes kicked in Councils around the country were very determined to say schools were not part of their organisations and were on their own. If you don't share a DPO, then it should be reported as a breach.

Not that I'm aware of for CSV (if there is a responses Google Sheet, you can see who has viewed that) but like I say - anyone who has accessed the form with the editable link will have been able to see the data, so downloading that data is irrelavant - it has been exposed through sharing the edit link and exposing the "Responses" tab on the form. You have to assume that whoever had that link has opened it and been able to see the data/do something with it.

They should be able to find it in the Drive Audit Log inside Google Admin Console's reporting tools to see who has accessed the form, and therefore the data. Doesn't matter if they've downloaded the results or not if they've been able to see the responses inside the form itself.

Sorry if I'm diverting the conversation somewhat, but has anyone explored Android devices without SIMs or iPod Touches and PTT solutions instead of two way radios? It's something we're thinking about.

This. Just make sure the old classes have end dates on them, rather than relying on the end of the school year to tidy them up. Create new classes, archive the old. Don't repopulate existing ones. Any sync tool worth it's salt should do that, but don't necessarily blame the sync tool. It could easily be something hasn't been set correctly on your MIS end.
