I had a headteacher who let anyone retiring keep their device. God knows how the Business Manager dealt with it, but I found it an asbolute pain picking things apart. Then again, this was a teaching body who was offended when I told them their laptops were teaching devices, not personal ones and I would remove any holiday photos from the server if I found them!

I've dealt with them by begging people for the last 15 years not to use Publisher because it's awful. Things like overlapping elements increasing file sizes 10 fold, just show you the issues with it. Take away the overlap, and magically the file is smaller again. I've asked people, if they have to keep the file, to turn them into PDFs. If they feel they need to change them in the future, either use Google Slides formatted into A4 size to create new ones, or a tool like Canva.

No, but this is rare, and if it does happen it's either a mistake, or another teacher who doesn't use it trying to hide the notifications and doesn't know what they're doing. So it's unarchived. You can license the ActivInspire software separately, but its about £500 a machine.

Even better, set it to a Google site of your own making, telling them to change it on Windows on-site.

Well... "Natasha's Law" means that you need to display ingredient and allergen information on every food item that's pre-packed for direct sale. So really if it is completely self-ordered with no human interaction they actually need to label the products being sold fully and probably stick signs on the machines too. If they can't do that, then they shouldn't be offering grab-bags anymore. The students shouldn't have to disclose if they have allergies, the food should disclose if it has anything in it that might trigger an allergy. "MAY CONTAIN NUTS" etc.

Yes, password sync needs to be installed on every DC, as Windows Server automatically load balances password changes between your DCs.

Well I recently took over the Microsoft account that was being ran by someone else, using my personal Gmail account email address as the login address. So, yes. Most companies seem to have this issue.

.spotlight is the Mac search indexing folder. As for USB, it should be blocked at the OS level, so they can't use it. Leaving it open is a massive data security issue.

Depends what's on offer, if you need to run a VM or machine to run Salamander for example, you've got to account for those potential overheads too.

We didn't implement at our place, as the students only use Google accounts. I've implemented it for others though (old job) and yes, force password change at next login to start syncing.

GCDS will only synchronise the accounts. If you want to synchronise your passwords you will need to install Password Sync on every AD too. https://support.google.com/a/answer/2611859 And yes, it can only sync passwords when it steps in the middle, so you'll need to get everyone to reset their password also.

Any MIS in it's Assessment Framework should be able to create completely customised assessments, with complete control of: Assessment types Grade set and collections schools are able to collect And they should be able to: Collect as much information as you want as often as you want to collect it Create built-in calculations from the information as part of your set up Use multiple criteria that will update the results as data is entered live In theory they should also reduce the need to process data before you enter it into the MIS, or after information is output by the MIS. You should be able to input your result into it, and get the calculated answer after without exporting to spreadsheets. Also any MIS software’s behaviour tool should be flexible enough so that behaviour is customisable to your school's policies and behaviour workflow.
