bondbill2k2 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Ditto. We're open 10-2, but I got as far as Ironbridge and the roads were..well..not good. Spent a few hours watching cars sliding and wheelspinning past the drive (still doing it in fact). Snow was coming down hard (still is). The astra was doing fine, but the roads less so. Dread to think what the roads around Ironbridge are like, they were bad enough in much lighter snow when I worked in Broseley.

My son's school is closed because the access roads are treacherous and they have cancelled all school buses. Thus it was down to me to go and pick him up and bring him home. Working from home now.
Abaddon Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 We're closing at 2.. doesn't really seem that bad at the moment, but I guess some of the coaches have a long way to go, so better safe than sorry. It's expected to get worse yet, so there is wisdom in the decision.

Trapper Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 My sister in law had to go to her school this morning. Other side of the West Midlands. Her Dad drove her. Now they've closed she's effectively stranded as my in laws have spent the past three hours on the M5!
