Willott Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Had to link due to content As you were... My office has no window... weather forecast is for light to heavy snow with chance of precip heading upwards from 60% from 9am... I think I'll be in and out my office quite a bit today, shame I have to walk down the hill to the bus stop and have an hour or so journey to get home when we do shut (be that snow or end of day)

Dos_Box Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Snowed a bit in Preston yesterday. Didn't stick though. Now just freezing cold rain
6Foot2 Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Cat doesn't want to get snowy feet: Posted on YouTube: 26th February 2011
Earthling Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Halfway through January and our first 'light dusting' of snow here. Not enough to stop anyone getting in or to close the school, but the Head announced this morning in briefing that if it snows again, '.......feel free to leave at 3 o'clock if you think you might have problems getting home'. I can see the future, I see huge traffic-jams as 70-odd teachers head for the main-gate all at the same time......'just in case'.
lionsl2005 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Snow in London, just a bit flurries. stopped now, expecting more this evening.
HaleStorm Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Its started snowing here in NW Sheffield, kind of covering but there is a fair bit of traffic moving about now so the roads should be fine
hardtailstar Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Ashford, Kent has had a covering over night. Snowed a bit up till about half hour ago.
Willott Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 started falling again now... come on the heavy snow
tech_guy Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Lots of snow in my home town but not much here where I work twenty miles away - just sleet. I was hoping for a day in bed watching carp tv.......

Pyroman Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 the proper snow has started if i get chance ill upload a picture, if it gets to the point where its worth it that is I'm fairly close to you and it's proper snowing here now :-) not settling properly on the drive, can't see the roads but the field looks awesome!!!
HaleStorm Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 just taken a snapshot from a external security cam, just had to turn of motion detection recording because the snows driving them crazy this is 20mins worth of snow
sonofsanta Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Couple of inches round Lincs (the bits I see between home & work, anyway), and the Met Office forecast is slowly moving in the direction of less snow Bit pointless it snowing this time of year anyway, they'll keep the school open no matter what for exams. Bah!
Devontechie Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 We've got a dusting in West Kent this morning too. EDIt It's just started snowing again We had a light dusting in hastings as well..
Smee Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 My bit of the world getting quite snowy now but no chance of the head closing the school he doesn't believe in it! (closing the school not snow:$)
tech_guy Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 It's falling fast and heavy in our part of north Warwickshire now....
6Foot2 Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Snowing here at the moment. Has been for the past 5 minutes [not settling]
SteveT Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Fortunately we have things called snowploughs and gritters in these here parts so no real problems getting into school for me. Some of the farm kids from higher up the Dales not made it though tractors managed the majority. Need snow to be significant before we close ...... actually ice causes more problems than snow with some of the steeper hills becoming impassable. Edited January 14, 2013 by SteveT
bladedanny Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 We have gritters but our council never seems to expect snow
SteveT Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 We have gritters but our council never seems to expect snow It's winter ...... it snows!!!!!
