My Twitter has just gone mad with people saying they are stuck on the A23 southbound in Sussex due to snow. Looks like that area is getting a right beating from the snow at the moment.

i wouldn't of said that! We have about 2 inches max but for some reason there was no gritters (apparently they were stuck in the gridlock!) and it all became gridlocked pretty quickly for what appears to be no apparent reason.

I live less than 3 miles from A23

Son's school closed.

We have a blizzard outside. The main roads still haven't been treated.

My school, the one with the one in four hill between buildings, is open! Fortunately, I'm not in today... although I'm anticipating a call to ask if I can go into help out if they don't change their mind.

According to the radio this morning - it was a problem with a hill at Crosshands (?) The snow turned to ice very quickly due to the temperature and no one could get up it. Of course gritters could not get through the traffic to sort it out either.
