Dos_Box Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Well I drive this to work, so I've not got much of an excuse for not turning up when it snows. http://10100111001.co.uk/vault/files/snow_landy.jpg You'll need it this afternoon I think. We are due for quite a heavy drop of snow.... for once *Thanks the Lord I have 4WD.
Gaz Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) I'll believe it when I see it! Preston seems to be a black spot for snow actually sticking. Its snowing now fast, but its not going to stick. That Photo was taken at Beacon Fell on Monday where there was about >2" Edited January 25, 2013 by Gaz speeling
elsiegee40 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Daughter claimed she needed to buy a shovel to get to her hall of residence in Lancaster this week. Snow never stuck when I was there either

john Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Well it certainly did dump a good load on us, 2ft seems small where its drifted / gritters ploughed it to we have got some 4+ft heaps, thankfully my investment in the 4x4 and Snow Tyres has paid off no issues getting to the road today or being a good son and collecting my mum from work as she doesn't like driving in these conditions at all so my dad took her and I collected her
6Foot2 Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 We have heavy rain now. I expect that all of the snow will be gone in the morning [as per the forecast]
HaleStorm Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Friday night we had 4-5 inches in a few hours...it rained on saturday night and by the time i woke up on sunday it has all gone
6Foot2 Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) We have snow again right now. It is falling on ground that is wet from rain earlier in the day and so does not look like settling at the moment but it is having a good go at it [snowing quite heavily: Flakes are small] Edited February 10, 2013 by 6Foot2 Remove duplicate entry in post.
elsiegee40 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 We've had sleet all afternoon. Currently +2C
HaleStorm Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 We had 3-4 hours of light snow this morning leaving a half cm covering, now its sleeting and its all gone again, but we are meant to get some seriously heavy snow over night
HaleStorm Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Now the snow is coming down and settling again
TheScarfedOne Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Rain and 6-7 degrees all day here Yep, as per usual...the south west is missing out again lol. Bit nippy down here now but probably nothing 1
Norphy Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Thought we might have gotten away with it but it's coming down here again and it's settling too Oh well, at least I don't have to drive tomorrow
HaleStorm Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Main roads are now covered, which is concerning as the other half doesn't finish work for another hour and has to get out here from the city center
laserblazer Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Light covering here but seems to be melting.
elsiegee40 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Light covering here. Car will need clearing, but our cul de sac looks clear, so other roads should be fine.
HaleStorm Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 about 4inches here, schools still open though, and I'm only 15minutes walk away
X-13 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 It's snowing here, I was hoping for a snow day... I feel like carp.
Sirbendy Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 3-4cm here. I can hear dripping, so it IS melting a little bit in some places. Just used the broom to clear the car off, and it's part-frozen under the snow. The estate roads are covered...it'll be a "follow the tyre tracks" moment. The snow tyres shouldn't have a problem. The main roads...I don't know. I can see the gritters were out yesterday and 3am. 10am start for us.
CAM Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Snowing all night but the roads are clear and easy to get through. Plenty of snow to clear off the car without gloves mind you!
north-ict Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Snowing just cleaned off the car from the overnight snow. Roads are clear but it looks like its coming down.
