6Foot2 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Snowing steadily in Hertfordshire now. The covering is not deep but it is complete. I am sure that although we are outside the Be 'Prepared/Take Action' zones it will get a lot worse.

dobsonl Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 The snow has just started falling, although its light at the moment "All staff need to try and get in on a snow day" - That was yesterdays staff breifing quote
dhicks Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 (edited) It's snowing here in Alton - maybe a centimetre so far, with more still coming down. The chap who cleans the block my flat is in can't get home and has just startled the heck out of me by rustling around in the stairwell downstairs (my building is normally empty at night, but there was something alive down there...). He's now bedded down on a camping roll and a couple of old sleeping bags. He lives in Four Marks - ironically, his best bet of getting home tomorrow is probably going to be the heritage steam train line that runs from Alton. -- David Hicks Edited January 5, 2010 by dhicks
Andrew_C Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Did I hear that Alton dropped to -16C the other night? I know you're out in the sticks, and up a hill, but that is ridiculous. The thought of travelling along the Watercress line through fields of snow...
pritchardavid Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Damn snowed here now Lost my £5 bet now oh well he still owes me £5, done a £10 bet the other week and won it Head never closes the school
