Thanks for all the replies, some food for thought. I will sit down and plan what we are actually wanting from the project and where we are to where we want to be. I know one of the main issues is that staff don't like signing in, SSO is being worked on at the moment to combat this. Another is plain and simple - they don't like change and from one teachers mouth "Can't be bothered with it" (this was when he asked for a spare USB and i showed him how to access one drive). Morning all, I am after a little bit of insight into how you do things and what you push from a tech point of view with the use of Office 365 and in particular One Drive. We are being pushed by SLT to start getting users using it more but I keep getting the usual “I don’t like it”/”we have the shared area” etc etc from staff. I have put a couple of test groups together where a couple of departments use One Drive but looking at putting our entire Shared Area in the cloud seems a bit daunting. Even if I was to do this how can I make it as simple as possible for staff to use this drive? How can I map a drive to it/can i even do this? Can I still make certain folders view only/deny access to certain groups etc? If there is anyone in the Birmingham area who has implemented this it would be good to see this in a working environment if we can arrange it. Thanks in advance Andy

Hi, just out of interest, what machines is this happening on? What make and spec? We have a very similar issue here but only effecting very specific machines at the moment as the image is used elsewhere and not having the same problem. Thanks Andy

Haven't used Stone for a while due to build issues that were creeping in. Have recently been using Lenovo laptops for Staff and Students. They have been rock solid and haven't had any issues with them.

@DMcCoy yes all of my printers are set to update. I will give this a shot and see if it makes any difference. Thanks for the suggestion! I wouldn't have thought to change printers.

@Joanne will definitely investigate this, OneDrive is enabled for them to use and the client is on the machines.

Afternoon all, I am having a major problem with Word 2016 at one of my schools. It seems that autosave is causing the application to quit and make staff lose any changes they have made. This issue is sporadic though and i can't put my finger on what's causing the problems. I have really struggled to recreate the issue but i am told it happens 4-5 times a day. No error messages in event viewer, no file is created just randomly crashes. This is happening with Windows 10 Edu build 1607 x64 with Office 2016 Pro Plus. All machines are the same build and the same hardware. What's annoying is that this isn't happening on wired machines and i have also been told it doesn't happen when the staff are at home and working on their laptops. Do any of you kind people have any suggestions?? I have tried the following - Removed and reinstalled office Ran repair of office Changed frequency of autosave Changed location of default save directory H:\ Changed location of autosave directory to H:\ Removed all addins Windows and Office completely up to date through Windows Update Today disabled Autosave to see how one machine copes without it and if it improves Word. Hi All, Wasn't sure where to put this so please feel free to move it. I have a very strange issue that has been brought to my attention and I have no idea what is causing it. At one of my schools the head teacher has shared her Office 365 Calendar out to all staff and uses it as a whole school calendar. We have recently upgraded all staff laptops to Windows 10 Edu and since then no one can add events to this calendar. All staff have editor rights to the calendar after checking the permissions but when using the calendar online through Chrome or Edge it will not allow anyone to add events. If you create an event and try to select the calendar from the drop down box it isn't there, its like it doesn't exist. This even happens for the head teacher. Any suggestions are more than welcome as i feel like i am going around in circles with this one. Thanks Andy

I have Edge set as the default browser in my build but i have also installed Chrome for my staff users and the choice is down to them. Not had any issues so far.

We had similar scenario but after talking to the staff they decided that they didn't need touch screen so we just purchased a large TV for the room instead which was used with a laptop. Seemed to work fine and we save alot more money with it not being interactive.

We only have this ticked for Primary age children. It becomes a constant battle of forgotten passwords otherwise. All staff have it unticked and are asked to change it every 3 months within the password group policy.

Just a quick one to those of you in the west midlands area, highly recommend Lickey Hills Golf Club, played there 3 or 4 times now and it is a fantastic course. It is a municipal course but one of the much better ones i have played. Fantastic array of different holes and a good work out on the legs!! Can't recommend it highly enough.

Historically i have only been asked to do this 3 times in 10 years and 2 of them were by a head teacher, the way i have done it is give user 2 permissions on user 1's home folder and then just mapped that share via login script or now through GPP.

I would think that it is something being blocked by policy. One that has more restrictions on...student and less...staff member. Staff aren't affected because they have more access. I would do as suggested above, new build outside of any OU that has policies applying to it and then slowly introduce until you find the offending policy. Slow and tedious but the only way that your likely to find it.

Morning fellow edugeekers... I have a bit of a head scratcher with a few Toshiba Sat Pro C660-1LR laptops. I have upgraded them to Samsung Evo SSD drives and installed our image on which works fine on all other machines. OS deployment works and the machine is fine. However...I have a few random laptops that show multiple entries in the BIOS for the SSD and the laptop fails to boot...when I say multiple I mean up to 15 entries I found on one machine. The laptop seems to work fine and then suddenly it just will not boot up. I have 2x of these at one school and 2x at 2 other schools with the same issue. The only work around I have is to get it into BIOS, restore defaults, boot up, back into BIOS to change AHCI mode and then usually it boots. Although this can take a few times before Windows will load. I have tried to resolve the error by upgrading the BIOS to the latest version (2.00) and updated the driver for the SSD. I have also started to build an image just for these laptops but really don't want to go down that route. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks in advance. Andy

The only way i would play COD was if MW2 was re-released as a game in its own right, non of this master collection stuff on the other new game that won't even make it into the console...Battlefield 5 does look impressive though so will more than likely give it a whirl when it is released.

I had similar issues with one of these on Friday last week, although I thought it was sort of motor issue it turned out that there was a huge amount of dust built up inside the projector...I opened it up and cleaned it out and has been running fine since then.
