About BassTech

  1. Ok, thanks for the info guys, need to have a rethink on this!
  2. Hyper-V is installed on the server, yes it's a VM file server which I'm trying to restore from. I think it is a VHDX file, so maybe I do need to restore all of it? Bit annoying having to do that every time someone deletes something!
  3. I can't browse it, all that's listed it the server name, I click on that but I can't then go into it to view the files & folders, I've clicked on it and waited 30 mins now in case I was just being impatient but still no good Edit: It doesn't show "Querying online recovery points" either.
  4. Doesn't seem to work, I think it might be because I'm trying to restore from the online backup, it won't let me browse any files or folders, seems to be all or nothing. I can browse ok when I select to restore from disk and choose specific files/folders, but the date I need to restore from is online only. I am now restoring the whole backup to a folder, then going to have to manually go in & get it I think, bit of a pain though as it's taking ages to recover from online, does anyone know a way around this?
  5. We have System Center 2012 R2 DPM which backs up up our servers to Azure. I'm struggling to find information on how to recover specific files/folders that users have deleted, all I can see is how to recover the entire server which I do not want to do. I'm currently looking in the Recovery section of the DPM console, but no joy - any help appreciated. I'm used to using Symantec Backup Exec so it's all a bit alien to be at the minute!

  7. It's hypocritical, refusing to use the new £5 note because it's not vegetarian, but at the same time using products that are not vegetarian (smartphone production often uses gelatin, animal fat) to vent on twitter about it not being vegetarian, and then they go on about irony? It's nonsense! And I wasn't trying to be confrontational or inflammatory, I'm also entitled to my opinion and I stand by my comment about people spewing on twitter, everything doesn't have to be taken as offensive.
  8. oops, fixed now (was just linking to the BBC screenshot of twitter)
  9. http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/624/cpsprodpb/12517/production/_92713057_capture7.jpg Funny how all of these "outraged" people still have smartphones & access to the internet/twitter. Imagine how much pollution is generated just by twitter's data centers alone, and the damage that could potentially have on wildlife?? I suppose that doesn't matter though, because how else would they spew their thoughts to all their beloved followers

  11. Best show I've seen this year. There were a few elements which I thought were over-egged a bit, and it will take a while for the 'new' ideas to settle with their audience but overall it was brilliant. It's basically it's an hour-long middle finger to the BBC! Can't wait until this Friday's episode now.
