  1. Ok, thanks for the info guys, need to have a rethink on this!
  2. Hyper-V is installed on the server, yes it's a VM file server which I'm trying to restore from. I think it is a VHDX file, so maybe I do need to restore all of it? Bit annoying having to do that every time someone deletes something!
  3. I can't browse it, all that's listed it the server name, I click on that but I can't then go into it to view the files & folders, I've clicked on it and waited 30 mins now in case I was just being impatient but still no good Edit: It doesn't show "Querying online recovery points" either.
  4. Doesn't seem to work, I think it might be because I'm trying to restore from the online backup, it won't let me browse any files or folders, seems to be all or nothing. I can browse ok when I select to restore from disk and choose specific files/folders, but the date I need to restore from is online only. I am now restoring the whole backup to a folder, then going to have to manually go in & get it I think, bit of a pain though as it's taking ages to recover from online, does anyone know a way around this?
  5. We have System Center 2012 R2 DPM which backs up up our servers to Azure. I'm struggling to find information on how to recover specific files/folders that users have deleted, all I can see is how to recover the entire server which I do not want to do. I'm currently looking in the Recovery section of the DPM console, but no joy - any help appreciated. I'm used to using Symantec Backup Exec so it's all a bit alien to be at the minute!

  7. It's hypocritical, refusing to use the new £5 note because it's not vegetarian, but at the same time using products that are not vegetarian (smartphone production often uses gelatin, animal fat) to vent on twitter about it not being vegetarian, and then they go on about irony? It's nonsense! And I wasn't trying to be confrontational or inflammatory, I'm also entitled to my opinion and I stand by my comment about people spewing on twitter, everything doesn't have to be taken as offensive.
  8. oops, fixed now (was just linking to the BBC screenshot of twitter)
  9. http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/624/cpsprodpb/12517/production/_92713057_capture7.jpg Funny how all of these "outraged" people still have smartphones & access to the internet/twitter. Imagine how much pollution is generated just by twitter's data centers alone, and the damage that could potentially have on wildlife?? I suppose that doesn't matter though, because how else would they spew their thoughts to all their beloved followers

  11. Best show I've seen this year. There were a few elements which I thought were over-egged a bit, and it will take a while for the 'new' ideas to settle with their audience but overall it was brilliant. It's basically it's an hour-long middle finger to the BBC! Can't wait until this Friday's episode now.

    PS4 update 4.0

Yeah I like it a lot, particularly the new quick menu. The new themes are cool just wish you could change the colour of them! Also with the profile image, if you have the PS App you can select an image from your gallery to set as your profile cover image, have been able to do this for a while

    Battlefield 5

Been playing and my first impressions where "what have they done!!?" But after a few hours I really started to get into it, I really like the melee mechanics, it's so satisfying jamming a pickaxe into some's head haha. Some of the vehicles & weapons need balancing, but that's what a BETA's for! The map wasn't brilliant, but I'm looking forward to the full game & playing in the European countries. It's nice to have the British army in it, instead of the stereotypical American TANGO DOWN! BOO-YAH! stuff, it's got more character. Not a huge fan of the announcer voice, I hope they change that, sounds like someone reading out airport departures at the moment. All in all I'm pleased and the BETA left me wanting more, roll on October!
  18. Used the trial for Dovestones and managed to do it, it's just what I was looking for! I feel a purchase order coming on Thanks
  19. I will give these tools a go, I need one that can set their profile & home folder paths, thanks
  20. Hi all, Recently moved from CC4 > Server 2012 R2 vanilla set-up. So far so good but I'm having a bit of an issue bulk creating users in AD, I'm using this tool: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/New-User-Creation-tool-14fa73cd but I keep getting an error upon trying to create a test user: Am am missing something glaringly obvious?
  21. Didn't work in the end, can't get Active Directory Web Services running on the server Installed spiceworks which has gotten about 60% of the model numbers off, may just have to cross my fingers and hope I've got them all!
  22. We're stripping out RM CC4 running on Server 2003 and going Vanilla 2012 R2/Hyper-V, as well as migrating E-Mails from Exchange > Gmail. E-Mail migration was completed first week Second week we upgraded infrastructure from 1Gbs to 10Gbs, tested & cleaned all old fiber links The new server hardware got installed & commissioned last week, all user logins & data was also migrated. This week I'm hoping to start the workstation rebuilds & package creation/deployment, and do come GPO configuring SIMS server migration is being done next Friday Our technician told me last week he's got a new job & won't be returning September is fast approaching now, I think I'll just be able to get it all done in time, the site closing at 15:30 doesn't help though!
  23. Will give this a go - thanks! @adhutton - we do have impero but it's only installed in ICT classrooms so wouldn't get them all I don't think
  24. No, we're currently on Server 2003, in the process of migrating over to 2012 R2 which will have SCCM but it's not up & running yet & I need to get the models this week
  25. Does anyone know of a tool that can scan the network and can list/export all of the computer model numbers? I'm trying to make sure I have all of the drivers for our different computer models, so they can all build ok onto our new 2012 R2 platform
