Console only announced so far

If I remember rightly they staggered the release to PC by quite a bit with GTA V.. most likely be the same.

Shame as I don't own any consoles, only a PC! :(

I doubt it’ll be staggered much, if at all. The original releases of GTA V were on consoles that didn’t use PC hardware - the development differences between the platforms are now pretty small.

I look forward to not getting any time to play it! It does look lush, and I agree that the crowdedness of some of the scenes does jump out.

I haven't played GTA V for years now, but I suspect it would still be a hugely impressive game if I were to fire it up today (GTA IV had quite a crummy framerate if I recall, so I never got as lost in it as with V).

I re-installed and played a bit of GTA V at the weekend after hearing the trailer was releasing today, and it's still good, especially on PC. One thing I did notice is, because the dialogue audio was recorded originally for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 nearing the end of that era, the dialogue audio quality is a bit lacking and is noticeably compressed - But then (in my experience and I'm not an expert), many games of that era compromised audio quality to help with overall performance, I believe.

I'm excited for GTA VI but the lack of mentioning a PC version is a bummer. I'm not going to buy a new console for this (because I did for Red Dead Redemption 2 and ultimately never played it on that console!) and it gives me flashbacks of the GTA V PC and RDR 2 PC releases being so much later than the original release. For GTA V PC, we had to endure the original Xbox 360/PS3 release and a subsequent Xbox One/PS4 release before a PC release was even mentioned, IIRC!

I'm still highly irritated the original RDR hasn't been made available for proper computers :(

It'll miss the 80s aethetic, but now that the original release of GTA VC is actually further back than it's setting was from that game's release, I think it's easy to get caught in a nostalgia loop!

Whaaat?!

Of course, you're right, but it's always bizarre when you realise stuff like that. Why do I not feel like an early-00's period setting would have any appeal whatsoever were they to do that now?

Think I'm the only one in my friendship circle who thought it looked very cringy, lack of gameplay footage, didn't seem that interesting? I'll be surprised if it comes out in 2025 too.

The trailer looks too good to be true. I hope it's not a big disappointment

Historically the GTA trailers have been all in game graphics, accurately reflecting what happens in game. You can do crazy missions and stunts in GTA 5 / Online, so what has been shown in the GTA 6 trailer is not unexpected, it’s next gen.
