ghenderson Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 Would certainly be getting back to gaming, something I dont seem to find time for currently, including maybe experimenting more with VR. Might also be great for working on AI and ML, and some real big number crunching projects, and maybe running an unreasonable number of VMs for various tasks. 2
Alawil Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 I’d use it to setup a test environment so I can better support the school i provide voluntary IT support to for the last 5 years. 2
FragglePete Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 I'd use it as a door stop. Don't get much time to play games these days, but it'll sure look pretty as a door stop, all lit up and stuff. Pete 2
MartinByard Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 I'd definitely use it to play some games ... maybe some Skyrim with ALLLLLL the mods 2
deano3693 Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 What a beast - I'd let it install some Windows Updates before getting on with some Gaming! 2
3s-gtech Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 I would use it to run the same retro games, and fairly undemanding titles as my current PC (with 11 year old CPU and GPU), but at even higher resolution… 2
Ironside Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 after clearing all the junk out of the study I'd use it as my gaming rig for my old PC games like TF2 and Civ V at their max graphics instead of running them on old laptop integrated graphics 2
zLenniee Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Thanks for this big competition! Going to give it to my little brother so he can enjoy this gaming with higher quality. He's been doing really well in school! Hope to see you guys in the bett show 1
PrimaryNetMan Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 What a prize. Would go to my teenage daughter so she would stop bending my ear for a gaming rig for minecraft. 1
DeGrimmy Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Wow, that's quite the PC! I'd probably migrate some, if not all of its innards to my lovely modular, minimalist Fractal Design Define 7 XL case that my current gaming setup lives in because I love it so, and then anything left over will be donated to my brother and/or mates as some of them are in need of some upgrades! 1
Zoom7000 Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 What a beast of a setup! Would totally gift this to my daughters who are starting to get into games that need just that little bit more power than an iPad! 😂 1
Scifigirl Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Would try to get into games..... but come on we all know thats its really used for remote support for family..... (but then why does it need lights.....) 1
Garacesh Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Oof that's a powerhouse of a build! What would I do with it? I'unno? Spreadsheets and stuff? I've actually recently started streaming on Twitch (then put that on hiatus as I got COVID ) so it would absolutely become my home PC. Then I'd probably give my current PC away to someone that needs one despite it only being about 2 months old, because that's what I do with all my old PC's. (At that point, the parts are just e-waste, so why not?) 1
Boredguy Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 It would be a good addition to the fleet of Gaming rigs I've currently got at home that rarely load up a game these days Maybe could use it to 100% the odd game title or two 1
EssentialRug Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Definitely would donate it to my parents to use so they can check their email. 1
ITGuyNW Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I would like this so I could open more than 4 Chrome tabs at once. 2
slugshead Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Beast like that? For sure would use it to power a VR cockpit setup for flight sims and racing! See you guys there! 1
kearton Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 If I won it would go to my kids for a gaming PC. 1
sonofsanta Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 (edited) Funnily enough I've just started looking at upgrading some of the creaking parts inside my current PC, because my kids have gotten into Minecraft so I've been running it on my PC for the first time. Went in full of bravado, "oh yeah my PC will beast this, it'll run no problem", and within half an hour in a world the CPU is maxed out at 100% and my FPS has dropped into the teens... So yeah, I'd use it to play Minecraft with my kids without getting a headache. And then once they're in bed, all the other far more interesting games they don't care about, too I'd probably be able to sell my existing GPU on eBay for enough to afford a family holiday too, so that'd be a nice fringe benefit. mp4-dave Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Looks a super powerful gaming PC. If I won it I'd buy myself the steam VR headset to take flight sim to the next level. 1
Mrluckhurst Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I think that this would take pride of place in my living room and then the family and I can just gaze at it lovingly 1
win Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I'd like to say purely work and educational purposes but that wouldn't be entirely truthful! Gaming on max quality would be on the to do list 1
