  1. It's due to the MS June update breaking a variety of things, including OneDrive in File Explorer. Hopefully they will release an early patch for it https://www.windowslatest.com/2026/06/14/windows-11-kb5094126-issues-include-boot-failures-bsod-bitlocker-recovery-on-some-pcs-hp-onedrive-sync-and-enterprise-apps-broken/
  2. More info on this website: https://cybersecuritynews.com/microsoft-investigating-teams-issue/
  3. Nice meeting you at the BETT Show @elsiegee40 Hope you enjoy your retirement, happy travels!
  4. Lots of early gaming memories, but playing streetfighter II in the local chippy is one of the best. Hard to believe we can just play them on our phones now without putting coins in the machine!
  5. You need to clear the firewall logs, it is a bug with Windows RD. You can also run a batch file and schedule it, here is some info: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/992e86c8-2bee-4951-9461-e3d7710288e9/windows-servr-2016-rdsh-firewall-rules-created-at-every-login?forum=winserverTS
  6. If you have vSphere then check the datastore tab and it will show you where your disks are. For the config files you can find then here: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.hostclient.doc/GUID-A3F9DF4D-811C-4AEB-A15F-272E257E0797.html
  7. Check your Windows firewall rules. There has been issues with new rules being created each time a user logs in which slows it down. You can delete these rules or make a script to auto-delete them.
  8. I'd like to say purely work and educational purposes but that wouldn't be entirely truthful! Gaming on max quality would be on the to do list
  9. Now Google has banned zoom! Sounds like the CEO sold his shares just in time https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/pranavdixit/google-bans-zoom
  10. https://www.techradar.com/news/schools-ban-zoom-citing-security-and-privacy-concerns I guess this is another thumbs up for teams then
  11. Their response is that they are "very busy"
  12. I've been emailing them every day for a week but they are "very busy". Normally they are very good, but it's during these busy times that makes it worrying if support is unavailable
  13. You must be one of the lucky ones. We purchased Salamander but we've been waiting over a week for SDS support! Salamander is a good product but during peak times you're on your own
  14. Take a look here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/how-do-you-do/213903-distance-learning-action-plan.html
  15. Have you checked the zoom settings on your browser?
  16. Haven't tried it yet but these sites suggest it works with 2012 and 2016 https://www.thewindowsclub.com/administrative-templates-admx-windows-10-creators-update https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2251572-win-10-1909-admx-files-on-server-2012r2
  17. Check the MPLS is still functioning by pinging machines from one end to the other, you might want to consider setting up a VPN link too as a backup in-case the MPLS goes down.
  18. Have you flushed the DNS on the workstations and cleared the cache on the DNS server? Workstation: open CMD and then do: ipconfig /flushdns On the server right click on the DNS server then Clear cache
  19. It's to do with your external DNS rather than office 365. Just add a text entry like this (with your domain): _DMARC.mydomain.uk. 3600 v=DMARC1;p=quarantine;pct=100;rua=mailto:[email protected] Secure your email by following this: https://nedimmehic.org/2019/02/04/configure-dkim-dmarc-in-office-365/
  20. Depends how many invigilator machines you want. Normally if you have 1 invigilator PC in the room it will auto-connect. Otherwise it needs to be done manually, but it's not a big task to manually join them, just run around and click a few buttons per PC
  21. Does is hang for ages before finally reaching that screen or does it appear straight away? If it hangs for ages then it is going through various autodiscovery checks before timing out. You can force it to use the right one via registry edits. Look at option 1 on this website: https://kb.intermedia.net/Article/2445
  22. It won't hurt, and it will help old laptops that are using the older versions of HDMI which don't offer enough power through the port. This might help you decide if it's worth it: https://superuser.com/questions/1183570/how-to-check-if-a-laptops-hdmi-port-is-powered-for-vga-adaptor
  23. Looks like you have an issue with autodiscovery. You can try these registry changes to see if that fixes it: https://blog.jamesbayley.com/2015/12/01/registry-hack-to-enable-outlook-2016-to-connect-to-office-365/
  24. I guess the final test is using a PC or a different laptop with that convertor, as it's possible that it's just those new laptops that do not give out enough power from those HDMI ports for the convertor. Best to plug the laptop in (AC) as well rather than running off a battery
