So I am lucky because I am very old? Really? Well I suppose there has to be at least ONE benefit to have been around when the dinosaurs roamed the earth :)

Just had the AZ this morning. 2 of my friends also in their 50's are getting today as well. I didn't feel anything, first I knew I'd had it was when I was asked to hold the pad on my arm and then the dressing put on.

 

See what happens in the morning, I managed to get a 4 mile run in this morning finishing about 20mins before hand so turned up sweaty which un-nerved them a bit.

I didn't get a dressing! Feel cheated.

 

Feeling very tired today at work, though this may just be Monday Morning Blues.

Had my first vaccine Friday, felt a bit tired Saturday night. Sore arm on Sunday. Feeling fine now.

A few friends have been wiped out by the vaccine, two of them had covid recently so that could be the reason.

Well, I am now the proud owner of a half-completed COVID-19 Vaccination card having just had my first AZ jab. :first:

 

8 hours on and I’m making like John Travolta:

 

:sing: I got chills, they’re multiplying, and I’m loooooosing control... :sing:

 

Time for a hot lemon, methinks.

@AJWhite1970 - Look away now.

Chewbacca onesie is in the laundry basket so I’ll have to make do with my fleecy Jedi robe, instead.

Paracetamol-based hot lemon drink and snuggly sci-fi-themed apparel did the trick, although a second dose of both was required in the early hours.

 

I seem to be over the worst of it, now, and I'll take the side-effects over COVID-19 any day! Go get your jab, people!

Had my first vaccination today at about 9:30 (Oxford-AstraZeneca)

 

No noticeable effects yet, except for having to take off my wedding ring: It's normally a 'snug' fit but after the left arm injection, and after about an hour, I was only just able to remove it. I'll leave it off for the next couple of days.

26 hours on from AZ got a bit of a headache but not to bad, nothing much more than normal. Arm is a bit tender like someone gave it a punch.

It has a specific place in the house when I'm not wearing it (away from where it might get knocked or bumped so that it becomes 'lost') and I am looking at it right now.

Yup - don't do that

 

 

and do not ever take it off to do some washing up just before going away on your honeymoon and leave it on the kitchen worktop for the whole 2 weeks while you are away

 

certainly do not do that

 

 

I think Mrs mikeprice has forgotten about that little slip

On topic: after weeks of doing COVID LFTs at home, I'm still rubbish at swabbing my own tonsils and dread it each time test day arrives. I really hope that this nightmare will end soon.

I spoke too soon. At about 7:00 - 7:30 last night I started to feel the effects.

 

I spent a bad night and feel terrible this morning: High temperature, I ache everywhere, and a little trouble thinking clearly.

 

Despite all this, I would still recommend anyone having doubts to take the vaccination (naturally) If this is the attenuated version, how much worse might the real one be?

I don't normally get ill with flu or colds etc - or if I do it's so mild or quick they don't really stop me doing anything!

 

Fingers crossed I'm the same with this but wondered if the side effects were felt by most?

Both my parents said they didn't sleep well the night after and spend the following day feeling washed out but were fine (apart form a sore arm) the day after that, and I was pretty much the same. Based on the other people who I know who've had it, 75-80% were broadly similar, feeling a bit rough the day after, but mostly fine after a good night's sleep.

Had my 1st jab on Saturday night, felt a little blurgh on Sunday (bit of a "thick" head but not a headache as such) and my arm was a little tender even though I never felt a thing! had an early night on Sunday and was absolutely fine on Monday Morning! even went for a run! second one booked for June!

I'm due my second Pfizer next week.

 

A lot of people had a bit of a stiff arm and a few of use had headaches/general unwellness the next day but no bad side effects really.

I woke up the morning of my AZ jab with a sore throat. Went anyway as they said I would be fine. Had a cold for probably 3 or 4 days after. Not sure if the jab made it worse or not. All good now. Next one in June.
