Just had a flyer this morning which shows that RM is now in partnership with Impero. Remember the last time this happened when RM went into partnership with Ranger

and that was the last we seen of Ranger.

That was exactly the same process that happened with Ranger then RM discontinued Ranger and tried forcing everyone to use their own RM product and did not

support Ranger anymore. Just hope Impero are strong enough to resist!!!

Not a user of Impero but had 3 schools on Ranger and it went rapidly downhill after RM took it over even though the director of Ranger at meeting in Newcastle St James's Park stated that Ranger would live on with the benefit of an RM . History does have a habit of repeating itself.

Jesus... Why would Impero partner with RM.. Of ALL the companies! [emoji848]

Maybe because there are a hell of a lot of schools who use and trust RM and in partnering with RM, Impero suddenly increase their potential customer base?

After Reading a lot of other threads on here.....some would say why would RM partner with Impero

Here we go again... RM bashing. This sort of thing does get a tad repetitive, with all due respect. Edited by Edu-IT

Let's not turn this into bashing of either company please. There are Edugeeks who are not in the fan club of either, but criticism needs to be constructive rather than just a sweeping statement.

I'd just love a version of Impero that works without so many bugs, if this means joining with RM then so be it, but if I had the time I would be looking at NetSupport TBH

Id think all this means is next version of tutor will be Impero rather then net support rebadged. So rm will just be buying from Impero and selling on the product as rm as they have always done.

Wow, it's hardly the end of the world. And to be fair, I'd say it's probably more likely Impero would be in a position to buy out RM rather than the other way round these days. Not that either would happen. And regardless of opinion, there are plenty of expertise at RM.

Jesus are RM, still in business, I thought they went bust....

They stopped manufacturing hardware a while ago and they got hit pretty hard by BSF being stopped... they're still going pretty strong though!

One of the schools i help support have their services all through RM, moved away from lgfl services and i must say the network manager hated RM but since he took over 2 months ago has slowly warmed to them.

He has managed the contract to the tee and would now even recommend them. (I wouldn't but thats for personal reasons/issues)

They no longer need my help fully unfortunately for me. (Although i still help with purchasing)

I'd like to confirm that there is no intention of replacing the NetSupport product in RM Tutor with Impero, we have many customers that use RM Tutor who are really happy with the product and the ever increasing functionality that is provided by Netsupport. The Education Pro product from Impero is available for our customers to purchase if it is the right product for them, just as we resell and integrate many other products into our portfolio. We want our customers to have an informed choice on the products and services they buy from us.

I am also pleased to confirm that we have not gone bust and continue to help thousands of schools across the UK :-)
