Bill8 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 We've started watching "The Haunting of Hill House". We're not usually into horrors but by the second episode we were gripped! It's not gory but it makes my flesh crawl. There are subtle things in the background that make you think "Did I just see that?"
AJWhite1970 Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Chernobyl Really well made but a very tough watch knowing the horrors it depicts of the first responders happened in real life
mikeprice Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Chernobyl Really well made but a very tough watch knowing the horrors it depicts of the first responders happened in real life Agreed - wife insisted we watch it - scary to watch but very well made - recommend anyone to watch it - especially if you were around at the time
mdrabble Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 Just started watching The Originals on Netflix - still on the fence wether I continue watching past season 1. Lucifer season 4. Magicians - never saw what happened at the end of season 4 coming!!
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Six episodes into Lucifer S4 right now. Superb so far! The shorter run has allowed them to tell a narrative across the whole series in a better way than they did when it was on a full 22ep run. New characters are good, existing characters are getting some excellent development - with the exception of Det Douche, I still hate him. Here's hoping the series has a strong finish and gets picked up for season 5.
witch Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Still watching Black Summer - 6 episodes in - reserving judgement as yet Salvation on the other hand - just gets better and better
mavhc Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Handmaid's Tale s2. Debating whether to watch s3 of Mary Kills People
AJWhite1970 Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 GoT S8 EP5 Watched it first thing this morning, really not sure what I made of that. Will wait until everyone has caught up before saying anything else.....
LeMarchand Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Salvation on the other hand - just gets better and better The asteroid thing? Maybe I should give it another go. Gave up after a few eps.
LTurner3692 Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Chernobyl Really well made but a very tough watch knowing the horrors it depicts of the first responders happened in real life Thought this was amazing! thought it was amazing to see how it was dealt with at first! but it is hard to watch knowing just how much of an affect this has had!
FishCustard Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 GoT S8 EP5 Watched it first thing this morning, really not sure what I made of that. Will wait until everyone has caught up before saying anything else..... I've not seen it yet, we're going to watch it tonight. If it goes the way I think it will go however, I don't think I'll like it...
mdrabble Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 May decide to watch GoT S1 Ep1 just to see why people rave about it
LeMarchand Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 May decide to watch GoT S1 Ep1 just to see why people rave about it If you do, it's worth bearing in mind that after a while they realise that they don't need boobies every few scenes to keep the audience. Whether this is a plus or a minus depends on the viewer .

Whether this is a plus or a minus depends on the viewer . yes, that is true. I have always enjoyed the show. I just think it is very well made and with boobs and dragons too, it is a winning combination! IMHO!
mikeprice Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 The there is a lot of unnecessary nakedness in places - at times it makes sense - but I am still trying to work out why her clothes burn off but her hair is just fine or is that just me?? (again)
webscontent Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Something I never noticed.Bit like people talking about a coffee cup they had seen at one point. - - - Updated - - - Something I never noticed.Bit like people talking about a coffee cup they had seen at one point.
phreak Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Just recently started catching back up with S9 of The Walking Dead. Stopped at Ep 7 I think it was and then have just been putting it off in lieu of other shows. But finally getting back into it now and it has re-captured my attention. Up to Ep 14 now. Still waiting for Rick to make an appearance again though but otherwise I am enjoying it again. Not quite up to the fever pitch that the first few series had me in, but still pretty good.
FishCustard Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 The there is a lot of unnecessary nakedness in places - at times it makes sense - but I am still trying to work out why her clothes burn off but her hair is just fine or is that just me?? (again) In the books her hair does burn off. Not sure why they skipped that given that a skullcap and some makeup can't be that expensive. I also thoroughly recommend GoT just... don't take Series 8 too seriously....
LeMarchand Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 In the books her hair does burn off. Not sure why they skipped that given that a skullcap and some makeup can't be that expensive. I suspect that they didn't want their cute lead too changed and it was probably a lot easier from a continuity POV. Emilia Clarke may also have had an inkling as to the god-awful "do" they'd saddle Lena Headey with when her character's hair was shaved off.
LeMarchand Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 Started in on Cobra Kai S2. Loved the bit where Daniel made the mistake of reading the YouTube reviews of his ad for his Miyagi Dojo that accused him of cultural appropriation, branding him Daniel LaRacist.
HarryMonkey Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Chernobyl Really well made but a very tough watch knowing the horrors it depicts of the first responders happened in real life Caught up with episode 1 last night. An excellent watch and scary too. Made even more so knowing that it actually happened. The denial by the authorities is sickening.
AJWhite1970 Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Caught up with episode 1 last night. An excellent watch and scary too. Made even more so knowing that it actually happened. The denial by the authorities is sickening. Ep 2 is not so much about the workers but focusses on the increasing desperateness of the state cover-up and the gradual realisation of the senior figures that it's already too late Just gutted it's not got all episodes on box-set yet, would happily watch the other 3 episodes in one night 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 Lucifer Season 4. So glad this was saved I finished this off last night. The best series yet. By far! Good conclusion, can't wait to see if they get a Series 5. I'd also pay good money to watch a spin off based on Mazikeen and Eve going bounty hunting!
