sparkeh Posted March 19, 2019 Author Posted March 19, 2019 American Gods is back which is fantastic. However, I still hate the title sequence, its just the worst.
LeMarchand Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Finished S3 of True Detective. A bit disappointed by both the resolution and the amount of unanswered questions (like what happened to Hays' wife?).
mavhc Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Being disappointed by the ending is kinda True Detective's raison d'etre
witch Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 (edited) Watched "Love, Death, and Robots" on Netflix - short sci-fi stories. Some were amazing ("Beyond the Aquila Rift", "Lucky 13", "Helping Hand"), others just meh - definitely worth a watch though. Watched them tonight - agree with you about the good ones. LeMarchand Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Just watched the latest "Orville". Have to say that guest star Leighton Meester and Scott Grimes did a better job of "All I Have to Say" than Jeff Bridges and Mia Farrow did in "The Last Unicorn". P.S. Can't believe Scott Grimes is engaged to Adrianne Palicki.
sippo Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 Me and the wife have just finished watching Breaking Bad. Watched all the episodes over a three week period. Superb. Best TV I think we've both watched. It's the sort of TV that we wouldn't have even contemplated, but wanted to know what the hype was about.

Now you guys have finished it you can start on Better Call Saul.
CHiLL Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 It's amazing how much binge watching has taken over my preferred style of consuming TV. At the moment I have The Grand Tour and Top Gear on the go and I've queued up Star Trek Discover Season 2. I have a bunch of stuff waiting to be watched on both Sky and Netflix. It's just getting the time! 1
Norphy Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Season 2 of Discovery has been a belter so far, overall.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Yeah S02 of Discovery has been brilliant so far! It's one of those programs that I prefer to have a weekly dose of, however. I like to keep a few of the really good programs simmering over a few months. same goes for the grand tour actually, however in this case it's because an hour or so of clarkson is just about the peak, after that it gets a little irritating.
witch Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 Went back to watch "Salvation" on Netflix - somehow we'd forgotten it. Really enjoying it
ICTDirect_Dave Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 I've started rewatching The Expanse since it made the move to Amazon. The first series is a cracker!
Patrick Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Started the new season of Billions. I've loved the previous ones.
phreak Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 I kind of lost interest after Season 1 of Lucifer due to other good stuff having stacked up at the time and then I forgot about it. Just started on Season 2 as there is a nice bingeable amount. It's good stuff as per usual. Also, Into the Badlands has just started back up and enjoying that. And lastly, The Magicians. I am loving it as usual... but man their writers really love their musical numbers.

I'm not feeling that the writing in Season 4 is cohesive as in 3, but glad they haven't forgotten about Penny 40 in The Library. Not enough Kady this season, though. Must catch up on Badlands...
AJWhite1970 Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Binge watched After Life on Netflix over the weekend. If you ignore the often unnecessary potty mouth language it was stunning tv, beautifully written and starring Ricky Gervais with a fab supporting cast. Takes you on an emotional roller-coaster and tackles some very deep subject matter, ripping your heart out one minute and making you laugh the next. Even my OH who usually hates anything with RG in it sat transfixed and watched all 6 episodes (although she swears blind it was only because of the dog but secretly I think she enjoyed it...)
mikeprice Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Oh $deity - there are more?????? (remembering when granddaughter managed to set up a series like on her parents Virgin box - they spotted it when several hundred had been recorded)

BKGarry Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 So I just finished watching "Dead Pixels" on All 4 (i think it is being shown in E4 but always just stream) It is quite funny, to the point where I would say the writing is almost on par with "The IT Crowd" where it is close enough to real life that it is believable in places, but it has absurd out there moments. Really worth a watch, especially is you have every MMO'd before.
witch Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 The Walking Dead has come back to itself - much better than the last series and certainly worth hanging on for - - - Updated - - - Binge watched After Life on Netflix over the weekend. BKGarry Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 How does it compare to The Guild?Never watched The Guild (or heard of it) lol
LeMarchand Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Never watched The Guild (or heard of it) lol Web series about a bunch of gamers starring/created by Felicia Day that ran 2007-2013 with various "extras", including the odd musical number.
