thimon Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Just finished season 1 of Shooter, actually surprised at how much I liked it. Not just a robocopy of the film which was nice!
ICTDirect_Dave Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Killing Eve on the iPlayer. Excellent show, great adaption! Sandra Oh is excellent, but Jodie Comer who plays our assassin, Villanelle is simply magnificent. Three episodes in and it has been nothing short of superb!

Agreed, am I allowed to say that Jodie Comer can kill me anytime... she is mesmerising
LeMarchand Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Watched another Futureman. Still not the best thing ever, but still fairly enjoyable. Just realised that the co-creator is the guy behind "Misfits" and (I found out when looking him up) "Crazyhead" which I also enjoyed. Also a couple of pilots: God Friended Me: an atheist is Facebook-friended by God, or possibly someone with access to a godlike AI, and prompted to do good things. It's a bit like the first season of "Touch" (the Kiefer Sutherland thing with the autistic kid who went on to be Bruce Wayne in "Gotham") meets "Touched by an Angel" (or last year's "Kevin Probably Saves the World"). I liked it, but probably too sweet/"god"-dy for most. Pilot rated well, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if it makes a full season. If interested, don't watch the trailer as it gives away every major plot beat. Manifest: A plane encounters turbulence, and when it lands the passengers and crew find that they have been missing for five years. Spookily, this one is a bit like "Lost" meets the first season of "Touch" meets "Touched by an Angel". Have the network execs found The Lord, or is it that they're hedging their bets in Trump's USA? Was alright apart from the more soapy aspects, but this will only work if the creators know where it's going and it doesn't feel like they do. Can't see this staying the distance either, as the appetite for this sort of "what's the answer to the big mystery?" show seems to have diminished since the perceived let down of the "Lost" finale.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Agreed, am I allowed to say that Jodie Comer can kill me anytime... she is mesmerising Nope, that's totally fine... Your comments will have already cost you your life! And you're right, I can't think of another character that looks at people the same way a curious kid would look at insects before pulling their legs off!
CAWJames Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Anyone else a bit meh about the first episode of Jodie Whittaker's Doctor? I am hoping it will get better once they introduce the TARDIS back etc. Apologies to those who loved it, but I couldn't quite engage with her as the doctor, as apart from the sonic swiss army knife, she wasn't very doctorish, if that makes sense?

Three episodes in and it has been nothing short of superb! 3 episodes in as well after a marathon watch of the Body Guard last week this is great follow. 1
mavhc Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I might have watched this body guard show, but then all the press spoiled it, so why bother. 'sall good man
JATSO Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 I might have watched this body guard show, but then all the press spoiled it, so why bother. 'sall good man I don't follow the press and choose to watch and follow program purely based on the the first episode so i won'y be watching Dr Who based on the first episode because it just didn't grip my attention even with Jodie Whitaker in it which is shame as i like her.
mavhc Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Didn't have to buy anything, just walked past the newspaper stand in the supermarket "why x had to die!" on the front cover
JATSO Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Didn't have to buy anything, just walked past the newspaper stand in the supermarket "why x had to die!" on the front cover There will always be spoilers.
LeMarchand Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 There will always be spoilers. True, but I'd have been pretty annoyed had I been watching the show and fallen a few days behind to see that even the blummin' Radio Times trumpeting the shock twist on the cover.
JATSO Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Guess I was lucky then. Watched it all on iplayer.
CAWJames Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 Yes, watched ep 1 series 5 of Z Nation last night, as @witch says, interesting. Full of clichés as usual, with the usual time line bending, please explain story line
CAWJames Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 The Orville. Oh..my..god..why haven't CBS sued the backside off FOX (I know why, but still). Actually quite enjoyed it, especially the surprisingly ethical notions of episode 3, worthy of a Picard/Prime Directive conundrum.
mavhc Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Kidding, created by Dave Holstein, writer on Weeds, with Michel Gondry and Jim Carrey from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Carrey plays the world's most famous children's television presenter, dealing with a personal tragedy.
difinity Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 I have done a search for it but the ! breaks it so apologies if it's been previously mentioned. Happy! on Netflix, dark and funny.
Garacesh Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Finally got round to buying a wireless adaptor for the 360, spent yesterday binge-watching the entire third season of Daredevil. Incredibly enjoyable, everything I've come to expect from it in the first two, and this flavour of Bullseye is considerably better than Colin Farrell's stint in 2003. It was nice that they started actually calling Fisk 'Kingpin', even if only for a short time, and I'm glad they've taken a different direction with Vanessa. Now I find out there are rumours surrounding Season 4, specifically that there might not be one, since Iron Fist and Luke Cage got cancelled
DJ-1701 Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Mash Report is back What are the 4077th up to? 2
mavhc Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Think you'll find that's the M*A*S*H Report, case matters, and also weird punctuation
fiza Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 Mash Report is backGoing to see Mash Report being recorded on Thursday.
