LeMarchand Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Finally finished S3 of "The Magicians", which was the best yet. Checking my ratings for the show, 4 eps got 7/10; the rest were 8 or higher. Rest of family not fans - Mme LeMarchand finds it too scary/violent and Mlle LeMarchand (Drama degree) complains about the acting I love it! S3 Trailer contains BAD WORDS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKFv-OmwdmI
sparkeh Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 Binge watched the first two seasons of The Good Place on Netflix. Very, very good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfBgT5djaQw
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 We found Unforgotten on Netflix. An ITV show marketed abroad by BBC worldwide. The talented Nicola Walker plays a Detective who along with her team specialises in solving newly discovered murders that took place decades ago. Well written, clever, very sad and an all around excellent program.

ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Sounds like "Cold Case" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_Case (and it's possible source, "Cold Squad"). Kind of... Only these aren't cold cases as such. The murder in each series (only one victim and six episodes to tell the story) took place years ago, but there's been no previous investigation, at best a 50-year old missing persons report, nothing more. So it's an entirely new case with 'witnesses' who have been living their lives uninterrupted for decades and never having even been interviewed with regard to it. Excellent stuff
LeMarchand Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 Possible bad news for fans of "The Expanse": https://www.engadget.com/2018/05/11/the-expanse-canceled-on-syfy-streaming/ SyFy are dropping it, but the producers are trying to find someone to take on S4 and beyond.
Patrick Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 whattttt!!! I really like The Expanse! Maybe Netflix will take it up?

Arthur Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Fox have cancelled Lucifer... http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/lucifer-canceled-fox-1202800382/ ... and ABC have cancelled Quantico, Designated Survivor and Marvel's Inhumans (although no one will miss the latter! )
DalekSec Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 iZombie has been renewed for a 5th season If you haven't seen it, it's about a zombie who works for the police and eats peoples brains to get visions on whos killed who etc. Sounds a bit naff but it's well written and some nice original content in there!

JonThompson Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Fox have cancelled Lucifer... http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/lucifer-canceled-fox-1202800382/ ... and ABC have cancelled Quantico, Designated Survivor and Marvel's Inhumans (although no one will miss the latter! ) Hopefully Amazon will pick up Lucifer as they show it in the UK. I guess Netflix may pick up Designated Survivor???
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I'm hoping for Amazon to pick lucifer up. It makes sense as @JonThomson says they carry the streaming rights. I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the final cliffhanger episode until they resolve the future of the show. Designated Survivor? I tried the first series. Got as far as them finding the bunker with all the extra bombs, decided it was too far fetched even by the standard of 24 which it so desperately wanted to emulate and gave up on it. Not bothered too much by the fate of that one. As for The Expanse. I really can't see it staying cancelled for long. It's been a standout show for three years and was just gathering momentum.
mavhc Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Expanse is the only one I care about, SyFy doesn't have streaming rights, so they were only getting money from current viewers, hopefully a deal between everyone can be made
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 On a side note. The new series of Taskmaster is excellent once again. Liza Tarbuck is magnificently evil!
LeMarchand Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Scorpion is axed too. Can't say it was a classic (though the pilot was a lot of fun), but it was an undemanding 40 minutes.
pooley Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Scorpion is axed too. Can't say it was a classic (though the pilot was a lot of fun), but it was an undemanding 40 minutes. Nooo I liked Scorpion
thimon Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Just started watching Queer Eye on Netflix, a very good feel good show
LeMarchand Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Blacklist, Blindspot and Lethal Weapon all renewed. The latter will no longer feature Riggs and Murtaugh as star Clayne Crawford allegedly misbehaved on set and has been fired. Seann Wiiliam Scott will be playing a Riggs substitute.
TomFreeman Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Nooo I liked Scorpion I'm really hoping someone picks it up, especially as it's another program to end on a cliffhanger, although i guess it could end there.
