Simcfc73 Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 Looming tower, Jeff Daniels is an amazing actor.
LeMarchand Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 Finished "Blunt Talk" (Patrick Stewart sitcom) recently. It improved greatly once you got to know the characters and was enjoyed by the whole household. Falls into the "sad but not heartbroken" over its cancellation category. At least it has a conclusion rather than a cliffhanger.
CAWJames Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 Just gotten into Orange is the new black, enoyed the first season, second season started a bit wobbly but going good guns now. Always thought, womens prison dramedy, I won't enjoy that, but pleasantly surprised. Should have known as I found it was Jenji Kohan who created it, and I loved Weeds (well at least until it got weird(er) in the last season)
mavhc Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 Just finished The Americans, great show. Now back to S2 of Legion
LeMarchand Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Just finished Season 3 of Humans, which was possibly the best yet. The immigration parallels got a bit heavy-handed at times and I'm still not sure why Synths can't be restored from anything short of catastrophic damage to their "brain", plus I've had to tell myself that in this reality surveillance isn't a thing. Otherwise brilliant, especially eps 6 & 8. I was surprised that one character, who seemed to be being set up as the series' Jesus, made it to the end and it was great to see that they hadn't forgotten about a couple of plot threads from the previous seasons. Fingers crossed for a fourth season!
liam_impero Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Keeping Faith is keeping me entertained at the moment!
phreak Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 I used to love the Dragonball series of anime back in the day. Recently a friend told me that they actually continued the storyline of Dragonball Z in Dragonball Super (forget Dragonball GT). I must admit I got a little carried away towards the end and watched little else (the perk of getting to a show after it is finished it's run in that you can binge to your hearts content). And it is one of those shows that you cannot apply any logic to really otherwise you will just end up picking holes in every show... but if all you want was more of that glorious outrageous battles between Goku/Vegeta and ultra strong opponents then this is the one for you! Once I finished that I started getting back into Better Call Saul. Loving Season 3. Oh and Season 5 of Bojack Horseman. Very funny as per usual. Ballers S4, more of the same... but that's good as I like it. And the final series of Killjoys, always entertaining and building up to hopefully a satisfying conclusion. Last but not least.. the new series of Taskmaster.. the missus and me's favourite one we watch together. Although I have noticed if you didn't pay attention to the task sometimes it can seem like the most bizarre thing ever you are watching.
LeMarchand Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 And the final series of Killjoys, always entertaining and building up to hopefully a satisfying conclusion. Can I borrow your time machine? Current season (4) in my timeline is the penultimate one .
phreak Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Huh... would you look at that. There is another season. I stand corrected. Perhaps my brain is having a time warp. Still.. a happy accident as that means more killjoys!
CAWJames Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Echoing the above, and apart from the bat crap crazy green plot, loved KillJoys S4
LeMarchand Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Re Killjoys S P O I L E R S and a load of text for i-Spy are they all in The Matrix, or has reality been altered?
JJonas Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Hearing good reports about Maniac on Netflix, so might start watching tonight
witch Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 LOVE Killjoys Watching Fear the Walking Dead from the beginning again. Reverie is a bit interesting. Not impressed by Future Man as yet
LeMarchand Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Reverie is a bit interesting. Not impressed by Future Man as yet Finding Reverie a bit of a slog - it's all "a bit like..." many other better shows and Sarah Shahi is the wrong actress for such a wet character. Thought the first ep of Future Man was a bit pants, but watched a couple more recently and it seems to be improving.recently
phreak Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Snatch Season 2. If you enjoyed season 1 then you may like this new one. The Hills & Co are trying to go straight.. but it doesn't quite work out as planned. Fear the walking dead. I must admit I am really struggling with this one. I have made it all the way to Season 4 Ep10 but have stopped and started it at least a dozen times and I am still not through the episode. In the beginning of the season 4 I was liking it a lot, they were doing a lot of interesting things introducing new and old characters. But it just feels like it is stagnating now. I haven't started on this one yet but a colleague of mine highly recommends it. The Purge. Yes, you heard it right. The Purge has a tv show how as well as a series of movies.

I started watching Purge, its really scraping the barrel. There alot of rubbish on Amazon.. Cloak and dagger is another tosh one.
LeMarchand Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 Cloak and dagger is another tosh one. How far did you get? I saw the first ep and wasn't keen, but did like the fact that the kids were a bit more "real" than normal.
DrBeaker Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 Rewatching all Scrubs seasons, started Mr. Robot Season 3 and still haven't seen the last episode of Arrow Season 1 yet. Thanks Amazon for the binge-watching
Simcfc73 Posted September 27, 2018 Posted September 27, 2018 How far did you get? I saw the first ep and wasn't keen, but did like the fact that the kids were a bit more "real" than normal. 3 1/2 episodes.. I turned it off as the acting was awful and it was just nonsense (stupid dream sequences) 1
Norphy Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 S3 of the Good Place starts on Netflix tonight. I highly recommend it if you’ve not seen it before.
LeMarchand Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 3 1/2 episodes.. I turned it off as the acting was awful and it was just nonsense (stupid dream sequences) Thanks. Unless any other members of the family are keen, I'll probably dump it.
LeMarchand Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 S3 of the Good Place starts on Netflix tonight. Holy shirt! I can't forking wait!
Simcfc73 Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 I binged on The last man on Earth over the past few weeks, stupidly funny... especially the cameo. The Last Ship started the other night too, stupidly patriotic and silly but I like it.
phreak Posted September 28, 2018 Posted September 28, 2018 How far did you get? I saw the first ep and wasn't keen, but did like the fact that the kids were a bit more "real" than normal. I tried to stick it out and got as far as Episode 6. If you were not keen by the first episode then you probably did the right thing by not continuing with it. 1
