Norphy Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Years and Years is a polarising one. I liked it a lot, my GF hated it.
LeMarchand Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Years and Years is a polarising one. I liked it a lot, my GF hated it. I can't get past the publicity shot, which makes it look like The Royle Family.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I can't get past the publicity shot, which makes it look like The Royle Family. See, I thought that. But I think that was kind of the plan. Royle Family it is definitely not! However, the whole premise is to make you feel uncomfortable by showing you a world you recognize and can relate to before twisting the future in non-pleasant ways.
LeMarchand Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 However, the whole premise is to make you feel uncomfortable by showing you a world you recognize and can relate to before twisting the future in non-pleasant ways. Alas, it failed spectacularly with me as I don't relate to that still.
CAWJames Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Year of the Rabbit, good fun and bonus footage of his truncheon being made: that made me watch it really, saw the one day build, watched the series. Then I watched NightFlyer on Netflix...oh my god what a predictable paint by numbers sci-fi crap fest that was, still watched it all to see what happens at the end, wish I hadn't really.
mikeprice Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Tennis And that's about all at the moment Wife seems to have annexed the remote control Oh - and Tour De France started today - apparently I have to watch it in the bedroom
CHiLL Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 I finished What We Do In The Shadows over the weekend - thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone! There's a surprisingly star-studded ep to come. I was just thinking "That looked like $FamousActor" when it turned out that pretty much everyone in the next scene was well known. I actually prefer it to the film - possibly the shorter length works better for me. You weren't kidding. I obviously knew to expect it, but didn't expect to see who I did and as many people as I did!
CAWJames Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Stranger Things 3, enjoyed the upside down out of that! Oh and it does a marvel at the end of the last episode, I nearly X'ed out then noticed the ash...

mavhc Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 No, I didnt mean it wasnt any good - it was - but Season 3 is better Well, I hated S1 for doing nothing original at all, given the praise it got I expected something, got nothing.

mavhc Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 How was is not original? Secret gov experiment on child with magic powers, she escapes and becomes friend with a group of kids. Monster from alternative dimension kidnaps kids, some are rescued. It's 50% Poltergeist, 50% ET. I've seen everything they did before.

LukeRowberry Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 I've just finished watching Dreamer it's a show about this IT guy who goes rogue. He starts in a fortune 500 company and quickly open sources everything. All production systems that don't support oAuth are removed costing millions. It's a bit of a horror/drama. Without spoiling it too much the IT guy ends up in jail over Windows licencing fraud. It's one hell of a rollercoaster.
