Star Trek Discovery Season 3. As much of a Trekkie that I am the first two series were so so, however the two episodes of this new series have been great! Looking forward to the new storyline [emoji846]

I thought the first was good, the second average and the jury's still out for me on this one... I don't particularly like the characters. I guess I just pine for the magic of TNG as I didn't reckon much of Picard either.

See, I never got into TNG. The three year wait for the BBC to schedule it probably didn't help. They had the rights, but apparently it was hard for them to find a slot amongst all the repeats. I also found it too moralistic (ironically, something the full time detractors of modern Trek level against DIS and PIC). Plus it had Wesley. Have really enjoyed the two new live action shows, though.

Utopia on Prime is a bit scary.. John Cusack is cropping up in a few things like this.

Also watching Battlestar Galactica as I missed it first time round.

What has John Cusack done to his face, that's the scariest thing in it!

Roadkill, really enjoying it. A few plot holes in the 3 episodes we have watched so far, mostly in what a minister would and wouldn't do(or be able to do). V twisty turny and quite a few avenues they can take at our point of watching into how the plot progresses.

Finally caught up with the last few eps of Black Mirror. Charlie Brooker definitely getting a bit less bleak. Only one I really wasn't keen on was Bandersnatch. Maybe it was the browsers I tried, but there seemed to be no indication of the meaning of the choices apart from the Netflix/PAC/Glyph one and the phone "puzzle" - so I wasn't moved to go back and try alternative choices. Apologies to Will Poulter, whose picture I kept seeing on the Netflix page and who I thought was a severe looking black lady!

So as a trekkie you've watched... 7+4+2 seasons of bad tv, and with 2 good episodes you're convinced they've turned it around?

I'm cautiously optimistic. Too early to tell how the whole series is going to be after just 2 episodes. Always happy to give any TV series a chance.

Just been watching Disenchanted on Netflix. Seems OK All characters look like they are from Futurama (yes, I know, same people made it, but they made the Simpsons too and few of these characters look like them)

I tried to like Disenchanted. I really did. However there's something about it which rubs me up the wrong way. I got about 10 episodes in, realised I didn't like it very much and stopped.

I ahve decided to re watch teh ArrowVerse.

So Arrow, Flash, Supergirl etc. Need to find where I can watch the newer programs.

You could use a VPN to spoof a US IP address and then just use the CW online on demand (whatever they call it).

Yeah, same here. Couldn't put my finger on it, but it just didn't grab me in the same way Futurama did.

Just binge watched Truth Seekers last night (8 half hour episodes) and enjoyed it a lot.

Not as good as the Pegg\Frost stuff with Edgar Wright, but still plenty of giggles and stuff to give you goosebumps.

Yes. The ending suggested that more could follow...

I really do hope they get a second season out of this (and a bigger budget), but it is a very fine start.

Truth Seekers was let down by the very last episode, that should have been at least 2 episodes in my opinion. Too many things happened at once, too many things weren't explained but glossed over and the final bit was confusing (trying not to spoil for others(

I did like it though

Not very high brow but I often watch the 'Can't pay - we'll take it away" and similar stuff

Big episode coming up

I LOVE "Can't pay..."

The guys are so compassionate and helpful - even when the clients are nasty! And I bet this one will be!

Problem is that I've seen most of them several times now

can't believe the patience they have sometimes

and the determination to keep digging

laugh out loud when some lying toe rag gets their comeuppance

BTW - the company (DCBL) is based near here - they have taken over sponsorship of the rugby stadium just up the road

We have been watching Van Helsing https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80121349?source=35 on netflix.

If your into the whole vampire/zombie Apocalypse thing and you have nothing else to watch it might be worth checking out. We are well into season 2 and it's pretty much just "meh".

We also stopped watching "Dark" about mid way through season 3 as we just completely lost interest in it - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_(TV_series) ). The first season was brilliant, really interesting, well put together time travelling sci-fi. The English voice dubbing was a bit annoying but it had enough interesting concepts to keep you hook. 2nd season kind of lost a lot of what made the first season so good and the third season felt like an entirely different program and was full of plot holes and was generally just boring.

The Undoing on Sky Atlantic with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant.

Pretty good thriller so far, despite Nicole not really being able to show any facial expression!
