LeMarchand Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Nicole not really being able to show any facial expression! That's so sad; she really didn't need to freeze her face.
6Foot2 Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Just finished The Man in the High Castle (Series 1 to 4) Don't want to give too much away, in case anyone else hasn't seen it yet. Neutral comment: The ending wasn't what I expected 1
CAWJames Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Just finished The Crown season 4, could be a whole discussion in itself really. Facts mixed with a lot of fiction. Those watching who weren't around at the time or don't have a grasp of UK history, may take it as gospel, just saying...
CAWJames Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Queens Gambit on Netflix, not was I expecting, but a good watch all the same. No chess knowledge needed!
LeMarchand Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Haven't watched Queen's Gambit yet - read the book years ago and enjoyed it. Loved this pic from though. 1
LeMarchand Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Supernatural The fifteenth - and final(?) season, leant to me but currently on 4Music in the UK (I think). Gonna try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible. Not a bad season, but a bit of a wasted opportunity. I think they should have come up with a way to bring back as many popular guest stars as possible with significant roles. There were a few, but there were some surprising no-shows, and most of the reappearances were brief. Also, after what happens in the ante-penultimate episode no-one checks up on people after the resolution. The biggie, though, is the final episode. Which is actually the penultimate one. After it ended we assumed that the finale must be a recap or behind the scenes bit of back-slapping. It is actually a proper episode (though there is a final cast and crew shot) but let's just say that, while it isn't without merit and does "make sense", I'd recommend you skip it altogether. I'd rather they spent the money on more guest appearances in earlier eppies.
JATSO Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Better Call Saul - Netflix, brilliant how it all ties slowly into Breaking Bad
Katy Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Better Call Saul - Netflix, brilliant how it all ties slowly into Breaking Bad Yep - can't wait for the next season, unfortunately delayed because of COVID
JATSO Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Yep - can't wait for the next season, unfortunately delayed because of COVID Just started season 3.
LeMarchand Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Just finished Season 2 of The New Legends of Monkey (Netflix). A bit better than the choppy first season. Still not great, but quite fun; though nowhere near as mad as the "original" which it includes a couple of Easter Eggs for. Not sure why this has got such stick for its casting as, IMHO, it's properly "colourblind" - people of all races and even accents (including a French Moth Demon and a West Country adversary).
Boredguy Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Haven't watched Queen's Gambit yet - read the book years ago and enjoyed it. Loved this pic from though. Just finished watching Queens Gambit. Not that bad for a mini series.
TechMonkey Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Just finished The Order on Netflix. Interesting concept and didn't turn too Teenage angsty. 1
sonofsanta Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Better Call Saul may be the best program ever made. Breaking Bad S5 was the previous high point for me, but BCS hit that level by Season 2 and has just kept it up ever since. Absolutely phenomenal storytelling, acting, editing, production, filming... everything about it is a creative team at the height of their powers.
hallb15 Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 Just finished The Order on Netflix. Interesting concept and didn't turn too Teenage angsty. I enjoyed it too - they left it very open to another series too but Netflix have dropped it which is a shame.
Simcfc73 Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 I'm trying to understand raised by wolves.. very Ridley scottesque...covenant not the good aliens one.

VeryPC_Nicole Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 At the start of lockdown V1 me and my parents decided to start watching Suits as some pass time. Currently, mid way through season 8, our aim is to finish it all before the year ends!
JATSO Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 (edited) What, no You in that list yep that's another good one that should have been in the list and no Ozark Edited December 9, 2020 by JATSO
LeMarchand Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 I've watched one of those shows, working my way (slowly) through two others and have two more on the "must get around to" pile. Not really interested in the rest. Starting to find Empire a bit too predictable these days.
LeMarchand Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Here are the Top 10 TV Shows of 2020 based on IMDb user popularity. The Boys (PrimeV) Money Heist (NX) Dark (NX) Ozark (NX) The Mandalorian (D+) The Queen’s Gambit (NX) TheUmbrella Academy (NX) Westworld (HBOM) The Witcher (NX) The Crown (NX) Guess I'm a populist. Whilst I'm only up to date with The Witcher, at least there are only three on there that aren't my thing.
Norphy Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 A bit late to the party perhaps, but I’ve just finished watching Good Omens on Prime. Very impressed. Fantastic cast, all perfectly suited to their roles. Excellent adaptation of the source material, thoroughly enjoyed it. 4
6Foot2 Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 We are currently 'box setting' Hanna. We completed series 1 yesterday, and we are part-way through season 2 now. While not edge-of-the-seat stuff it does keep the story moving along making it worth going on to the next episode.
Norphy Posted December 12, 2020 Posted December 12, 2020 (edited) My girlfriend and I have been watching Wanted, an Australian drama about two women who witness a murder, end up becoming suspects and go on the run. It’s on Netflix It’s actually surprisingly good. The leads are good, writing is as well. We’re just coming to the end of the second series. The one criticism I do have about it is that it does sometimes succumb to Small World Syndrome, which does occasionally break my suspension of disbelief Edited December 12, 2020 by Norphy
