JATSO Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 The Staircase - on Netflix, if you like courtroom drama and true stories
Simcfc73 Posted May 1, 2020 Posted May 1, 2020 Really enjoying Community, Chevy Chase is a legend and Expanse is a pretty clever Sci-Fi series. Just sat watching Into the Night on Netflix... incredibly dubbed
southhamster Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Just watched war of the world's on nowtv. The joint French/UK version. So much better than the recent BBC effort.
Andrew_C Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Be warned, on listening to this you may succumb to humming it for a few days. Listening to it? You only had to mention it and the ear-worm has stuck! 1
LeMarchand Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Just sat watching Into the Night on Netflix... incredibly dubbed Saw the first ep of this - really enjoyed it. The subs were close captioned, which got a bit annoying - though the dub had weird voice casting. Otherwise, great stuff so far. Just watched war of the world's on nowtv. The joint French/UK version. So much better than the recent BBC effort. Completely forgot about this - must start it soon.
mikeprice Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Watched the next version of Devs - getting better - quite weird - and you do have to accept some rather extreme concepts and that timeframes for doing stuff are FAR too short for dramatic purposes but overall it is developing into a not too bad suspense who-is-going-todo-it-and-what-on-Earth-is-it-anyway type thingy always a good sign when you are not sure where Earth they are going with it
mdrabble Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Currently watching Upload on Amazon Prime..... still on the fence about it
XiJ Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Ha I’m watching oh right now. It has a frighting reality about it.
mole Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Just finished watching Hollywood on Netflix, shame just 1 season. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9827854/
mavhc Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 If the story takes 8 episodes to tell, that's how long it should be, at least they're free of having to make 100 episodes of something that only really needs 17
jaisingh1006 Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 I like Korean series, currently I'm in love with watching "playful kiss"
LeMarchand Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Our "Sundays with the Lord" double-bill of God Friended Me (think Facebook Touched by an Angel) and Messiah ended last night as they coincidentally both came to an end of their series on the same night for us. (Maybe it was Divine Coincidence?) GFM was a "comfort food" watch and very cheesy, but they had a bit of a sprint and brought it to a suitable conclusion before the cancellation - so bonus points. Not particularly upset that it's gone, though. Messiah might have been good for another season or two if the were going to give a definitive answer to whether or not he was the second coming, but I suspect that it would've just strung it along and never gone that far.
mavhc Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Russell Davies already did The Second Coming, shorter too
LeMarchand Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 Russell Davies already did The Second Coming, shorter too There are circumstances where shorter isn't always better .
CAWJames Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 Rick and Morty, the newest "The Vat of Acid Episode". Just amazing!!
blueday Posted May 21, 2020 Posted May 21, 2020 Just finished binge-watching all of Bojack Horseman, and then Upload, both of which I enjoyed a lot. Think I'll start on Rick and Morty next..
CAWJames Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 Gang's of London. I am not usually a fan of violent things or London, but this is great! Some amazing set pieces
LeMarchand Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 If anyone who likes Mythic Quest hasn't seen the Quarantine eppy, track it down: funny, cool and even touching. Trailer:
blueday Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Just watched Into the Night on Netflix. An interesting premise, but not helped by the fact that it was dubbed into English, but because I like to watch with subtitles on, it was weird because a lot of the time they didn't match what was being said - in fact sometimes they were completely different! The dubbing also made the acting seem really bad (although it probably was).
CAWJames Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Ok, Mythic Quest, not what I was expecting!! I was thinking a more medieval slashing and hacking, leather, horses, not an office based comedy, but 3 episodes in I am still on the fence, but still watching, we will see

If you were watching on Netflix, there was an "original language with English subs" option available (which is what we went for). Acting seemed OK. though the subs also featured audio descriptions.
blueday Posted May 29, 2020 Posted May 29, 2020 Thanks, if there's a second season I might try it that way next time!
6Foot2 Posted May 31, 2020 Posted May 31, 2020 Mrs P and I have just finished 'We Hunt Together' as a box set (been watching over the past week of so) NOTE: Guidance: Contains adult themes
CAWJames Posted May 31, 2020 Posted May 31, 2020 If anyone who likes Mythic Quest hasn't seen the Quarantine eppy, track it down: funny, cool and even touching. Trailer: Ok, after my fence sitting, and now having watched all 10 episodes, I was hoping for more. Really enjoyed the quarantine episode, summed up a lot of hopes and fears for a lot of us in these times, and was funny!
witch Posted June 1, 2020 Posted June 1, 2020 Started watching Snowpiercer on Netflix - has potential I think Also Lincoln Rhyme - doesnt stick to the bone collector books but quite good. Still watching Lucifer - now moved from Amazon to Netflix
