im honestly not sure if im terrible at wildlands (even more so than shooters in general) or you are just supposed to die a fair bit and im stubborn and will retry the same mission too many times before giving up for now and coming back later lol

and heres me focused in a bit too much on my sniper scope while in a road lol

Oxenfree currently free for Gold on XboxOne, really enjoyed it over the 5ish hours it took and will replay for additional options/endings etc. If you like low-pressure exploration and character interaction/narration give it a go.

Wanted to get Destiny 2 on release but didn't had the cash. From what my workmate has told me it is an epic grind for gear... not so sure I want to bother now tbh, much as I enjoyed the first one. Maybe once the DLC comes out and there's more stories to play.

They've changed the feel of the Scout rifles in Destiny 2 (slowed down the rate of fire) that used to be my weapon of choice, I know they are only single shot but I used to be able to rattle the shots off pretty quickly and if you are consistent with he headshots they couldn't be beaten IMHO. Other than that little niggle I'm enjoying it so far.

Finally finished Mass Effect 2. Felt the ending was a bit rushed (was expecting the "other side of the relay" to last much longer) but generally fun.

Started Okami (was going to use the Move, but CBA). Hoping I don't have to sit through the interminable intro again.

Bought Battlefront on XB1 the other day as it's ultimate edition was £4 (and if you had the game, the season pass was free), same on PS4. (think it may expire today though...)

Never been into Star Wars, but played this for ages last night without a hint of boredom (lots of confusion, but no boredom)

I got an email inviting me to the PVP beta for Wildlands, so that should be making it's way into the game soon.

yeah got that but as im only level 10ish in the game and seem to suck badly at it (im still having fun most of the time as long as i stop before failing a mission for the too manyeth time really honks me off) i think i might give it a miss might look at the dlc though when i complete the main game.

Notes though zelda has ruined other open world games i keep getting frustrated i cant climb small rock piles never mind mountains i think in wildlands i spent 20 mins trying to get up a mountain for some crate before i gave up and nicked a chopper

It looks like I'm going to relent and get my kids a PS4 for crimbo.

There are some bundle deals out there for £230 but I was wondering what game to choose.

What do you think to a choice of:

Destiny 2

Horizon: Zero Dawn

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Cheers

How old are your kids?

Black Friday may be worth waiting for as there can be a lot of bundles on then.

hard to go wrong with zero dawn if you like big sprawling games you can get lost in

destiny 2 i dont get at all to me someone has merged the worst part of an rpg grinding with a shooter

you might want to do uncharted 4 before lost legacy or consider tomb raider they are similar games and to some extent its personal preference which you like more

Sorry, I should have mentioned that! They are 13 and 14. They both play Minecraft and the eldest plays War Thunder and Heroes and Generals. The 13 yo uses his iPad from school to play other games.

watched a youtube vid about the dreamcast not one of the people on it mentioned my favourite game from the system metropolis street racer. In the process found my vga adapter no longer has working sound output so had to use the tv rather than a monitor by the tv. Surprisingly for a 18 year old console the game I was playing didn't look that bad. did have to clean the cd though as music was going all wappy and the music is pretty integral to the experience

I do not miss the dreamcast CD's (or "GD-ROMs") one bit. One seemingly insignificant scratch is enough to ruin one of them.

Yes, MSR, very good, but the AI was infuriating IIRC (Would go stupidly fast on straights etc to catch up if you got too far ahead.) It's a shame that game was plagued with SO many delays, I'm sure it was meant to be a launch title at first....

I still have my DC and games include

MSR

Skies of Arcadia

Sonic Adventure

Ready 2 Rumble boxing

Re-volt

Chu Chu Rocket

Soul Caliber

Virtua Tennis 1 and 2

and more I can't remember. I once bought Sonic Shuffle for a fiver at a car boot, then sold it for similar money...its worth a bomb now!)

sega rally 2

Daytona usa

18 wheeler

sega bass fishing (free with console though I do remember it being actually quite fun in small doses)

tomb raider (I hated that game xbox reboots are fine though)

sonic adventures

crazy taxi 1/2

soul calibre

chu chu rocket

and a few more I cant remember

Always wanted to play 18 wheeler, but not so much as to go and buy it ( i used to get all the magazines/demo discs and play it on them!)

Ahh yes, Tomb Raider, i remember the Chronicles one being absolutely riddled with bugs.

I was selling a Pokemon game on ebay and someone messaged me to say it was counterfeit. It's GBA FireRed and it works just fine.... does anyone want it? I didn't even realise it was a fake!!
