Started spamming FF VII during the hols, and for the first time in about 4-5 play throughs, I got myself a gold chocobo (after spending about 2823 attempts at trying to get a Male Green Chocobo!!), and hence, Knights of the Round Materia. Currently need a long enough session on there to get Omnislash from the Battle Square aswell as the w-summon materia, then northern cave here I come.

well Mario and rabids is actually harder than I thought (granted I don't remember ever really playing xcom etc before so ymmv) if you want them all to survive every encounter without fainting you actually need to get good at it and have decent weapons. I made the mistake? of keeping all 6 characters I have unlocked up to snuff on weapons even the 3 I rarely use and as a result im having to grind for cash now to get better weapons for my main 3 as I was getting wasted in world 3 level 1 probably dosent help theres a turns factor you need to beat to get a "good pass" but it dosent tell you what it is until you finish it so you end up playing recklessly at times to get to the end when you could of taken it easier dosent help that health dosent refill between all battles. its definitely fun though lobbing explosive rubber ducks /rc dinosaurs at things

I probably should (again, never done it before), but I still have a ways to go I think (level 55ish), still need to go down into the Sunken Gelnika and get stuff like 2x cut and level it up etc if i'm going to go about it that way. I do now have Triple materia growth weapons for cloud and cid...... this is deffo the play through where i've done the most side quests (Ancient forest, gold chocobo, Wutai, key back to sector 5) I missed out on the turtle Paradise posters though, which infuriated me. I also have a fair chunk of the Enemy skill moves.

Annoying thing for me atm is battle square, so annoying you have to complete it all in one sitting, on my first attempt, i got to around 27000 bp before i ran out of currency, and last night got to about the same before i pretty much fell asleep.

It is a long and hard slog. Best place for AP growth is in the North cave in the weird plant section - you can deploy your save point there and level up before going back out. If you have triple growth slots down there you get a massive boost!

It still find Emerald harder to beat than Ruby as you can set your materia up on Cloud so that you cast KOTR as a counter, with HP / MP absorb. Then just sit back and enjoy the half an hour or more of fun.

Also, if you need Gil, just sell a master all materia. They go for a million or so

I have done her ultimate limit, its just fully restores and revives all party members and removes any negative effects (if I remember that correctly). As for getting her to level 99, no part of that sounds fun especially given that by that point none of the good areas for levelling up are available.

Yeah I've never seen the point. Ive had her in the party only when required and after experiencing her DOOM for the first time, I've never used her since.

Yuffie and Red Xiii are my favourite two party members.

im the exact opposite i keep Aeris in as much as possible grantged it a total waste of xp but i could never bring myself to remove her from the party. generally iirc as its been a while i tend to end up with Tifa and Barett on the team with Yuffee thrown in for Barett sometimes

@Garacesh @ICTDirect_Dave etc...

Steam link and controller on offer on steam atm, is it worth getting (currently ~ £45 with shipping...)

Bought a Steam Link last big sale for something like 11 quid. Haven't actually used it yet.

I don't actually know how to use it either, but I'll be damned if I read the manufacturers instructions opinion. I'll figure it out when the time comes :p

Yeah. 11.99 on steam and game. And controller for 28on game. Which comes in cheaper than steams bundle after postage costs.

I had a steam controller, in the end i gave it away for free.

I hated it so much i would of felt bad to make someone pay me for it!

I was initially quite tempted by the steam controller/link sale bundle but the controller itself seems to receive so much hate. Also, unless I buy a powerline networking kit, I've no straightforward way to wire my PC to the link which means having to run it over Wi-Fi which by all accounts is terrible (especially as my Sky router is only 802.11n). It'd be quite nice to play Fallout 4, Xcom 2 and some of my other steam games on the TV in the lounge though

Does anyone have anything to say in favour of the controller or steam link

Luckily I do have a powerline adapter, also if set up to TV downstairs it's next to the router anyway (also sky)

Huzzah! Destiny 2 is out tomorrow!

Boo! Wifey has bought it for me and I have to wait until my Birthday for it.

If you're extra good, she may let you have it earlier. ;)
