You could setup and use Peer Cache at the remote site if a distribution point isn't an option: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/configmgr/core/plan-design/hierarchy/client-peer-cache

If you are currently running Windows 10 1903 you can update clients via an enablement package: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Windows-IT-Pro-Blog/Windows-10-version-1909-delivery-options/ba-p/1002660

As mentioned the distribution point can be Windows 10. I've got one setup on my imaging build rig rather than Windows Server as it keeps the costs down. It functions as a DP and I can PXE boot from it as well for imaging https://www.systemcenterdudes.com/sccm-pxe-without-wds/

Your on the right track. I am assuming you have already checked within the Software Update Point Component Properties > Products tab that Office 2016 is selected to download updates. Create a collection for the updates and add all your clients into it. Download the Office 2016 updates, create a Software Update Group for them and then create a deployment for the group to the collection you created, just like you would with Windows 10 or Windows 7. SCCM will sort out if the client needs the update or not and it will be installed to the schedule you specified.

The front end reminds me of the old Lada cars you used to get back in the 80s -
I had this exact same problem. No matter which version or command switches I used with the GIMP EXE file, GIMP would just get stuck installing. I searched within EduGeek and found this thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/educational-software/170761-msi-paint-net-gimp.html I downloaded Arthur's MSIs for GIMP and they worked first time.

From that page: "The Flat Earth International Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, attracted hundreds of attendees who believe the shape of the Earth is a disc instead of a sphere." I think these people are getting confused between Discworld and reality

Microsoft intentionally designed it this way, for whatever reason. I had the same problem, I then found this webpage and created a software deployment that deploys to users. It still only installs on the users profile which is a pain: https://enterinit.com/guide-deploying-microsoft-teams-client-with-sccm/

As your using an older version of Java 8, could it possibly be Active X Control Blocking that is causing the problem: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/ie11-deploy-guide/out-of-date-activex-control-blocking https://www.java.com/en/download/help/ie_tips.xml
