superatticman Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 (edited) Was talking about the improved quality of photos from phone cameras earlier with a few people from work. So how about a gallery of photos taken strictly from mobile phones? Took this earlier during a lunchtime stroll down the park and must say my Nokia N8 does capture lighting and colour superbly for a mobile phone camera. Really captures the early 'Autumn Glow' alongside the greenery in the sun. And that's the beauty of mobile phone photography. Whilst dedicated cameras will always get better results in the right hands. The chances are you won't have your camera when you 'see' a photograph! Edited September 5, 2013 by superatticman

john Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 (edited) How about this one from the Lumia 920 taken at about 10pm on a dark night of a play that was happening in the square where I live as part of the Docklands International Festival Edited September 6, 2013 by john
Dos_Box Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Taken at Mintfest in Kendal last weekend on my Nexus 4.
Marci Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Kinda liking the new pocketable lenses that have come out of late on eBay from China's finest... Bee Sting... taken on iPhone 4S with Microscope lens... Mosquito Larvae in a water droplet (as per above)
Marci Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 These were all done on iPhone 4S with a 12x Optical Zoom lens (again, always in my pocket!) using the NightModes app to control exposure etc...
sonofsanta Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Not just the quality of photos, but the ease of post-processing as well. These are all around Windermere, April this year, Nexus 4: HDR on, I suspect, but no other editing. Lake Windermere, stock Android photo editor On the way up to Orrest Head, stock Android photo editor (and I imagine HDR)
3s-gtech Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Taken on Samsung GS2. Not bad with the standard lens.
HarryMonkey Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Standard iPhone 4S taken in the back garden
arwen Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Might like this - APPY Geek The new Sony camera that looks just like lens that are to be used with tablets or smartphones. Look to be rather interesting for the more serious photographer that wants a decent point and shoot, without carrying two big devices.
yugo Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Sunset in Liverpool in February taken on Galaxy S2
LosOjos Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 (edited) This one was for an online tournament I occasionally take part in. I had completely forgotten about the deadline, was at work at the time and needed something quick. Decided to play the "arty-farty" card lol (not usually my style) but was impressed with the clarity from my Samsung GS3, and it got me through the first round to my surprise: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7447/9192939754_0caa2c6e34_n.jpg This one (also on the GS3) was taken on my stroll home from work during heavy snow earlier in the year with some filter applied by the flickr app: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8464/8392434998_4dc54d56ff_n.jpg Now I must admit, I'm not one for taking serious photos on my phone but it is really handy to have a decent camera for snapshots or scenes that you'd otherwise miss. This last one I share not because I think it's great quality (it isn't bad considering I used no flash, I doubt my P&S would have managed much better) but because it's one of those moments I'd have missed had it not been for my phone: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8381/8600720857_431a795c87_n.jpg Edited September 6, 2013 by LosOjos
Smee Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 This is my humble offering off my samsung s3. I love the easy of use and the fact that I dont have to plan a quick snap

rad Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Iphone 4s with Microsoft Photosynth Ok its not one picture but to have a camera/app that can link images is great. I'll admit, in certain conditions the iphone camera is better than my normal compact, s we found when in Yorks railway museum
