Our Network Manager is trying to get GSuite Hangouts/Meet working inside school We use Smoothwall and LGfL connection. He believes the problem is with LGfL, anyone else using LGfL that can let me know what needs to be done to allow the connection. Best Wishes, Paul

Hi all, I have an LGFL/Adept school wanting to use Google Duo. Ports 19302 - 19309 inclusive are all open UDP duo.google.com is alllowed through Webscreen LGFL Bundles are allowed (Allow GSuite/Allow Google Meet) They can ring out externally, the other person receives the incoming call, answers, but then it just sits there connecting, no video or audio on either end. It also happens when an external caller rings into the school. Ive turned off firewall on machine aswell to test, still the same Im stuck for ideas, and Adept (since taking over Atomwide) are just wasting my time. Cannot find any other ideas by searching, no other ports or IPs to unblock etc. Anyone experienced this?

Hi All we have 3 sites with LGFL and so far we've been using LGFL web filtering but to be honest I'm getting fed up with web screen and the lack of any control over the firewall, some of you might have seen my previous threads about this and despite various promises from LGFL this issue remains several years later and web screen is still looks it was made by a graduate at uni So..... I've decided to slowly move away from my reliance on LGFL's web filtering and firewall and just get my own and have complete control, I'll set the LGFL connection to be completely unrestricted and just use my own firewalls/filtering etc. in your experiences what has worked very well with web filtering and firewall ? Thanks in advance!

Hi, Has anyone had experience migrating all staff emails away from LGfL to another provider, in particular Office 365? My experience is that LGfL will not allow us to do a bulk IMAP migration and the only suggestion is doing a manual move of each mailbox in Outlook. Any advice anyone has to help would be very welcome! Thanks in advance James

Hi! Can anyone help? Here at work we upgraded our network to LGFL 2.0 recently. Everything was working fine until we try to add new devices to the network or re-add old devices. It seems that any device we tried to add from now (after 2.0 swtich over) on or re-add to the network will assign 169.x.x.x.x address and does not see the DHCP at all. We have tried manually assigning these devices to our DNS but the ip address is still 169.x.x.x.x. Hi All Below is an email I sent to the Network Managers in my LEA (Bexley). I'm not happy, they're not happy, several support companies we've spoken to are not happy, which leads me to believe that other schools within London may also be a bit miffed. I've attached the PDF to this message. Please let me know how you feel about this. I'm meeting Brian on Friday. LGfL2 0 Transition Technical Guide - v1 01.pdf

Hi, hope everyone is doing well. Has anyone successfully set up email alerts for iDrac, iLO or HP SANS using LGfL's MailRelay? I've been trying but keep getting no emails come through or errors, I've tired various settings and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone successfully got it working and can share their settings?

We are about to sign with LGfL/TRUSTnet as we're not happy with our current provider. We are happy with their quote and their package. Our IT technician only works 1 day a week so we don't have that much support. Is there anything we should be considering/aware of before sending all the forms? Thanks

Has anyone moved away from AD sync single sign on from LGFL? We are thinking about managing all users ourselves in house but not sure how to go about this. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yes, I know it's an old subject, and maybe this should be behind the red door, except it's of no interest except to those on LGfL. I find the restrictions are increasingly impeding the resolution of problems at my site. I deal with many external support companies (RM, HP, EBM, IOT, Serco, NRS, 5i, PS Financials, Tech-Ex, Securus, Impero etc. etc) each of which has several support staff potentially requiring remote access, so trying to set each up with a USO is just impractical, as well as adding delays to me getting support when I need it. I really can't see how allowing password-protected remote access to my networks is anything to do with the Grid, who seem to think they're a corporate IT department instead of a service company. Once a support agent has gained access to our network they're logged on as an account inside the school, and are fully traceable. And they only get in when I say they can. How are others faring?

Hi I'm posting here in hope that someone may be able to help. My company provides an on-line behaviour management facility to a school on LGfL. The week before half term they found that they were unable to connect to our site. Their managed service provider blamed us saying our servers were down, as other internet services were unaffected. After a lot of messing about we eventually got to speak to the managed service provider who agreed it wasn't our fault. Another week went by and they suggested that the fault lay with LGfL. It's now 7 (yes, seven!) weeks the school has been unable to reach our site. Staff can log in perfectly well from home, but not from school. Has anyone experienced anything like this before or got any suggestions?

Hi All has anyone else noticed a shift in how LGFL support works ? previously when an outage happens the LGFL team jump on it straight away, they do their checks ie check if there is an outage in the area check if they can connect to the router or the firewall or any of the equipment update me with their findings and let me know if they need anything from me onsite, ie to check the lights or to restart the hardware, they usually message me and call my number nowadays and specifically the last few months they don't bother and refuse to check anything on their end without me telling them first which lights are doing what on the equipment, I mean surely there is some checks they can do and they did in the past before even getting to the stage of which lights are which... I've had better ISP support from talk talk.... anyone else or is it just my imagination :/

Hi, we have a iOS devices currently and we can only identify the device in the filtering logs and not the user and when we have 1:many devices this is not really suitable. We started looking at third party options such as solutions by Albion and Securly. However I contacted LGfL to see if we could "potentially" drop the SchoolProtect filtering part of the broadband provision as we do not want multiple filters and we were told "It is not possible to turn off SchoolProtect while still using the LGfL firewall. 3rd party filtering may be possible but will create interference ". I am fairly new to LGfL and SchoolProtect so any information or guidance would be great. Thanks in advance. Chris

Just in case anyone is having problems, this is what you need to fill in on your domain control panel. Here is an example on Namesco Control Panel: Name: _autodiscover._tcp Priority: 0 Weight:0 Port: 443 Result: mail.lgflmail.org I hope this helps someone...

we are paying £8k inc vat a year for a 100mb connection on a 5 year contract - we use the connection and sophos AV, web filtering, why do i feel this is abit much ? and i cant event edit the firewall settings..... does anyone know how much Virgin Media actually charge for a 100MB leased line ?

I have just updated my Sophos server from Enterprise Console 3 to Enterprise Console 4.5. I now cannot download any updates from sophos2.lancsngfl.ac.uk. Browsing to the URL and enterring the logon details brings up the server directory listing. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi all, does anyone here use LGFL USOSync and force users (in AD) to change every 90days? There is no password write back from AD to USOSync, so if someone changes their password on LGFL, does it reset the 90days on the AD when it syncs??? Thanks!

Hi All, New here don't know if anyone else has run into this issue. All has been running fine. Up until a few days ago, the command reporter and importer will not run when running the LGFL USO-AutoUpdate. This is manually and when running by schedule.
