Hi We are having some issues this morning with our exchange 2007 server. We are able to send and recieve internal e-mails and send e-mails to external addresses. However we are not recieving any e-mails from any external address's. Does anybody have any ideas what might be causing this issue?

For some time now some of our staff (including me!) have been using their mobiles via activesync to connect to our Exchange 2007 box. Despite having policies in place for data security such as encrypting memory sticks and ensuring laptop hard disks are encrypted the use of mobiles for e-mail has completely passed me by..... I have now disabled activesync (yep, I'm not popular!) and am now looking at the policy settings and testing them. My question is, how are others using activesync and what policies (paper ones not activesync!) do you have in place? As for activesync, I know the iPhone can be locked down pretty well with the settings, but what about android, etc? My N900 running Maemo doesn't apply any settings... It seems a bit daft for us to have policies in place for enrypting data going off site and then allow e-mails offsite with no security!

I have noticed this morning that I am no longer seeing McAfee ClickProtect links in my e-mails. I know that McAfee are migrating customers away from this product as it is end of life. I am hoping Link2ICT are going to implement an alternative solution as with the rise in Ransomware this extra security is much needed.

Ok this is a real puzzler! I have a MacBook late 2008 Silver model and my boss has a MacBook Air, i'm using IMAP to contact are email server (exchange 2003) in the school using are external host name for the server as in email.schoolname.sch.uk as this will work from home internally and externally. I can set his email up no problems on my mac using this external name and his username and network password to authenticate and can then subscribe to all the folder etc. however on his mac and other macs.... ive tested this, if refuses to work! It wont find the server (only using the internal server name as in servername.domainname this however means that when he leaves the site he cant access his email unless he setups a separate account for external using email.schoolname.sch.uk as mentioned above)! Hope this makes sense so far! Now i've checked all the network and security settings on my mac against his and they match to the word other than the IP address obviously, so what the heck have I done to my mac that allows me to view all the email accounts internally and externally using the external name?? I was thinking it was to do with DNS and resolving the external name internally, is this the Aliases or CNAME (not to sure on correct terms been doing some research) however this wouldn't explain why my mac works and his doesn't for his email and all other??! Please help me!! Thanks Steve

Is there anyone who has managed to get the new Staffmail system being implemented by LGfL on Mac Mail? It's Exchange based and I have a teacher running OSX Leopard (not Snow Leopard) but we cannot get it to connect to the server. What do we have to put in the boxes to make it work with a Mac? Seems to work in Outlook 2007 on Windows XP perfectly so it's a configuration setting we are messing up. Though I was trying to copy the settings from my success in Outlook into Mac Mail and it didn't work.

Hi Everyone, I work at a University in London. We have a user who is having trouble setting Auto Replies from two other Exchange accounts which she manages. Basically, what's happening is you select exchange account you wish to send auto replies from under the files tab in Outlook, the select auto replies but this errors out. I found a work around in which you set the account you want to auto reply from as default and it allows you to do it. However, myself and the user both agree this is a bit to fiddly to keep doing everyday. Does anyone know a fix for this? Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks in advance, Jack Odell

We allow our staff to access our exchange server remotely using smartphones in oder to read their e-mail. We have found that iPhones and Androids are generally able to connect without difficulty using their native applications (although Androids don't seem to be able to connect using K9). It forces the user to set a passcode to do this if they haven't already. However, a colleague has come to us with a Blackberry, and we cannot, for the life of us, get it to connect. Has anyone managed to connect a BB to exchange in this fashion using native apps, or is ther something that we need to download in order to get it to work. I'd have thought that Blackberries were the perfect candidate for this sort of thing.
