MobilityPrint is the way forward for PaperCut for BYOD/shared devices, PaperCut are keeping web print as it has certain uses but MobiltyPrint and authenticate per job sounds the right option here. When running on a Windows device there is an installer you can run as apposed to mapping the printer direct.

If you cannot ping the copier, can you ping the curriculum gateway from the admin side? It all points to a network routing issues.

I've worked in various open plan configurations over the years, then when I moved offices I was lucky to have an office out the back which us tech's shared then that became a store room, nice big room out the way. Open plan does work depending on your environment, IT was sectioned off by a partition but still open with the rest of the other departments on the floor. First job again was open plan but literally just IT everyone kept to their side of the building when it was opened up. I find in open plan situations there is never proper work bench and store facilities, desks becoming a bit of a dumping ground with kit as it comes in or getting ready to go out. It doesn't bother me too much these days with lot of my work been servers/networking I just sit there working away, mainly been none education in my roles.

I believe it can be connected to a Tablet or Phone, if it was me I would have it linked via a Tablet. I suppose at the end of the day with anything like this it comes down to transaction fees as that it where it can sting you.

Domain Admin's are not necessarily Exchange Admin's so be mindful of that. Has the Exchange box been rebooted?

Does your account you are logging in with have exchange admin permissions (going back to me Exchange 2003 days you needed to add that group to make it work) just incase that is an issue.

On the server PaperCut is installed it will monitor any print share regardless of weather its follow me or not unless you specify so you can monitor individual printers providing there is a queue and its shared out. Staff will always do their dam hardest to avoid it but compromise map their queue and monitor then pass the info to those above when they are printing an entire rain forest, least you will have to hard facts if they are abusing it.

Had hundreds of sites running like that, just except I get the DNS of site 1 pushed out via DHCP and you won't have any issues.

I can restrict certain file types, names etc from printing but I want to blacklist all jobs and only allow 1 file name (system generated, same each time). I think it's going to be a script option but has anyone here got this in their setup? Installing a printer for a specific purpose and I cannot see a simple way of doing it and not sure on the scripting side of things.

Also if recording outgoing calls how is the person reviving the call going to know it's been recorded?
